The ambience and atmosphere was very nice. The waiter (Manrique) was able to help us order even though it was not easy to choose from a few items on the menu. He did an excellent job attending to our every need whether it was water refills or making sure our food was good. The beef tenderloin had a little too much fat but the rest of the plate was wonderful. Also enjoyed the mixed fruit drink and blackberry smoothie.

We spent most of the day at the horse parade watching the local showcase their horses abilities.

Had a quick bite at a small restaurant then went to the Balmoral for a late night snack. Service was prompt and attentive.

Waiter recommended a couple sharing snacks which we enjoyed with a couple beers. Empanadas and shrimp were delicious.

Thank rasNY

This restaurant is a part of hotel Balmoral. We stayed there 2 night and had 3 breakfasts included with this restaurant.
Breakfast was a buffet with bread, cereal, muffins, rice, eggs, plantain (baked bananas), fruit, juice, tea, coffee, and made upon request omelets.

We had dinner as well. This was just normal. Nothing fancy or special. The photos of the locations are prettier then in real.
But the food tastes good.

Thank Patriesh

Hi there readers!

Visited this restaurant a week ago since mi girlfriend heard some reviews about the "Chaufa Rice" a Peruvian dish served here which I am a huge fan. We got there and my girlfriend requested a table on the second floor to enjoy the night view of San Jose, waitress stated there was no space so we stayed on the lower part. Sat and immediately notice the table was dirty and dusty. Spoke with a different waitress and apparently there was space on the second floor since we dislike the current spot. We moved up with our drinks and suddenly a different waitress stopped us saying we must pay for our food before going up. We payed the bill and went upstairs but for that time my patience was wearing thin due to the lack of organization and cleanliness. Later on the floor manager offer an apology when we were leaving the place, too late. Food was regular, nothing special and overpriced at least for us locals. The variety of drinks is limited and honestly, will never visit this place again since there are way better restaurants for Chaufa Rice tasting.
Thanks for reading and keep it real!
