Very clean and spacious house. Porch roofed, wonderful place to spend evenings listening to the sounds of the jungle. Daytime enjoying birds as hummingbirds, toucans and many others, howlermonkeys tumbling around in the trees, An iguana lives on the roof. The pool on the area is really not included, since it´s firstly for the guests at the nearby Three Monkey hotel. Though this was a minor problem since we were free to use it when other guests were not present - and we did, a lot! No cleaning or washingmachine included, and we ran out of gas for the stove on our second day.. But Mr Wolf, neighbor and owner of 3 Monkeys, were very helpful to get as a new bottle and also sent us new sheets and towels. Observe that there is a very steep serpentineroad down to the beach, not for disabled people. It´s about a 10-15 min walk - down... Taxi uphill about 3 dollars. Much to do in Montezuma, small village, not too crowded, many restaurants, excellent food and good service! ATM available but often without money!!! Available to pay with card in all the shops and the tour companies. We went zip-lining (Great), snorkeling at Tortuga island(nice, but not many fish, saw a shark though, the island very touristic) and on surf lessons (Great). The guides were very competent, very friendly and all English speaking. Tried different tour companies and they were all reallly good. We went to nearby village Cobano for food, drink (2 supermarkets, streetmarkets, small shops) and for money, when needed. Had a really wonderful stay!!!!!!! Favourite restaurant Montezuma Bar, at the beach, best Mojitos! /family of 5.
Place was great. Bit of a walk to get to town (STEEP) hill but nice and quiet at night. Wolf and Cecelia were fantastic. Kind folks that were interested in chatting anytime. Always available to help with whatever u need and want. Very clean, sweet pool and having ac to use once in a while was great.
Def worth staying there. Easy to taxi up and down to the small town. If I was to go back I'd def stay up the hill ghete again.
We enjoyed staying first in the 1 bedroom house and moved later to the bigger one. We liked both houses and spend a good time here so closed to Montezuma. We don' t miss anything and would come again!
We had an amazing 4 days at Montezuma House. Cecilia was so gracious and made sure that we had everything we needed. The house was clean and comfortable and we spent most of our time there outside on the hammocks so we could enjoy the monkeys and other wildlife. The walk down the hill to town was fine but I recommend taking a local cab (4 dollars) to come back up. It is a long and very steep incline! We would definitely stay here again.
This house was a great value, new and secure with lots of space. Cicilia was very gracious and helpful. We complained about the bed being too hard and she got us a different mattress, which was very nice. The a/c and internet worked well and we loved the pool. As a family of 3 we had more space than we needed (2 bed, 2 bath). The porch is a great space and the house can comfortably accommodate a family.
Make sure you have a car though bc the house is at the top of a HUGE hill. I'm a fit young guy and wouldn't want to have to walk up it. (Not even once)... And it's hot so a car is a must. Great place overall.
