“Wonderful place to stay in Manuel Antonio”
Reviewed 13 December 2015 for a stay in November 2015

Our family stayed here for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time. It was hard to leave the infinity pool each day for excursions, but they were fun, too. Natalie, the house manager, had great suggestions for excursions and for the best beaches for our family (no big waves for the youngest one). The location was great, but I agree that a car was necessary, and the driving wasn't that difficult (unlike San Jose!). Use the grocery store in Quepos and do some cooking at the house, which is fully equipped. We did have a few ladies come in and cook a big meal for us, and it was delicious. Also, the daily maid service was great, and the pool was well maintained. Surprisingly, there were no bugs or mosquitos (the 'dry' season?). At times the morning sun was a bit warm upstairs, but the afternoon breezes cooled us off. It appears to be typical of Costa Rica that only the bedrooms are air conditioned (and they can get cold!). One suggestion. Add some closet storage to the fourth bedroom (the separate one by the pool). Otherwise, we loved this house and would rent it again and again. It pleased both the young and the seniors in our group.

If you are traveling to the Manuel Antonio / Quepos area, you would do yourself well to consider this location. The home is quite remarkable...sort of Frank Lloyd Wright meets modern meets Costa Rica. People use the phrase, "Room with a view"...this is more like "house with a view". Exceptional views both interior and exterior. Everyone in our group of 7 was impressed.

The owner, Olivier, was quick in terms of response and when an error was made on our end, he worked rapidly to help us correct it which he did not need to do (and cost him $). Natalia, the manager, was very pleasant and met us with cold drinks and an great bowl of fresh ceviche which was perfect after the ride from San Jose. The orientation to the house was very helpful and almost every amenity one would need was on site.

We have rented homes where you see staff one or two times per week OR the day you depart. Not here...each morning the towels were laundered, dishes washed, home cleaned, and more.

As noted with the reviews, the location is spectacular. It is in a neighborhood filled with mega homes that importantly, one can only enter into after passing a security gate that is manned 24/7. The sun rises early (at least this time of year) to remarkable sunsets orchestrated with sounds of countless birds. Sitting by the pool, with a cup of coffee, makes it very special.

Believing in honest reviews, we will note there were a few minor facets that were negative in a minimal way. First, the wireless internet only works at the upper level (not the lower, where the bedrooms are). Second, to dry clothes, you need to turn the AC units off. Third, to keep the upper level cool (which unlike the lower level has no AC), you need to open the wall of sliding doors...which does allow an ample supply of bugs in (makes you wonder if screens are a possibility). However, in sharing these, please do not take them as major nor reasons not to choose this otherwise 10/10 place.

Our favorite part of the house was the outside. Indeed, the infinity pool may be the best part of the house. Finally, location...again, just great. Half way between Quepos and Manuel Antonio so matter what needs outside the property one would direction, it is 5 only minutes away in either direction.

If we were to return again, this would be the place we would love to stay at.

“BEST HOUSE EVER!!!!”

I actually cried when I first saw the view. This was our fourth visit to Costa Rica but we always had a beach view...and now I will never be satisfied without watching the sun rise over the mountains the way I did each morning of our stay at Villa El Salto. Everything about this house and our week there was perfect. We have been renting homes for our vacations for 5 years and this one is by far our favorite. The location is perfect. All we heard was the sounds of the birds and the monkeys. We saw more wildlife then our 3 other visits put together. Our favorites were the visits from the adorable squirrel monkeys each morning and an amazing encounter with a huge curious flock of scarlet mcaws while going for a walk near the house.
Natalia was so helpful the entire time and having someone clean and do laundry each day was such a huge bonus for us.
I really can't say enough how perfect the entire week was for our two families of 4 adults and 5 children!!!

“Gorgeous home, amazing views, couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.”
Reviewed 8 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

This home is simply stunning. It was perfect for my family of 8. Booking it with Olivier was easy- he was always speedy and answered all of my questions. Natalia, the house manager, was waiting at the house for us when we arrived. She had a few cold beers and some delicious ceviche prepared for us since she knew we were on the road for several hours. She provided so much information for us and was available in case we needed anything. The housekeeper, Tamara, was also lovely. This home is very well taken care of and very well managed. It felt like having hotel quality service with the luxury of privacy in your own space.

The house is situated in an amazing location and the views from the house were breathtaking. We woke up every morning to the sunrise over the mountains with a cup of coffee and birds singing. There is so much outdoor living space, and the kitchen was perfect for making dinners for the whole family. The pool was gorgeous and provided many hours of entertainment for our kids.

You will need a car to get to this house as it is remote and off an unpaved road. But, it's very close to town and only a short drive away from MA's national park.

I would recommend this house to anyone- it's worth it!

“Wow!! Fantastic experience at Casa Alta!!”
Reviewed 16 May 2015 for a stay in April 2015

My partner & I rented this beautiful house for our Wedding Party & we were more than happy with our choice in Casa Alta!! Natalia was MORE than helpful getting us settled in & also offered info for a local florist to purchase beautiful flowers for our stay. Mrs. Flor was more than wonderful with keeping the house tidy & we just loved having her around. I would also recommend Mrs. Flor to anyone needing a cook or fresh food on the grill. She (along with her lovely daughter) made the most delicious menu of foods for all of our guests during our stay!! I also had the opportunity to meet Olivier briefly. He made sure we were happy & comfortable with our temporary home at Casa Alta. I look forward to staying at Casa Alta, our "home away from home" during our next visit to Manuel Antonio!!
