small hostel, (3 or 4 rooms), with good location about 100meters to beach. Great hostess, Leoni, she active in day to day operations. Community kitchen available.

Cons:, bed I had upstairs was kinda old, seen better days, thin and dirty, but for $16.00 us a night can't complain. Maybee they have upgraded since then as when I stayed it had just opened.

all in all I would stay again.

I stayed for several nights and I wish I had time to stay longer. Leonie is a very gracious and hard-working hostess. She makes a fantastic breakfast in the morning and was a huge help with getting acquainted to the area. LP is very comfortable and in a perfect location. Definitely coming back!

Staying in Las Mariposas is a terrific place to stay while visiting Samara. It is very affordable, and the rooms and bathrooms are kept very clean. A well prepared and healthy breakfast is included and served family-style for all the guests, providing a good opportunity for friendly conversation. Also, there is a casual dining area with hammocks, and an open kitchen with refrigerator/freezer. Snorkeling gear and bikes are available for rent. And as other reviews have mentioned, the owner and operator of the business lives onsite, and could not be more friendly or accommodating. Oh, and it is only 300 feet from the beach.

This place had been recommended to me and was great as a base close to the beach. The owner provides breakfast and the kitchen can be used by guests to make lunch/dinner. This place is her home, which she opens up to her guests. It was very comfortable to stay there a few days.
