It's a beach worth visiting. Try to come during less busy days, because it is such a pleasant place to enjoy a day lounging. We were there when it wasn't too crowded and it was blissful. Go to Jardin Marina restaurant while you're here – it's not a tourist trap like a lot of the other spots (especially beachfront restaurants)... affordable, authentic and tasty.

Our family (2 adults 2 kids (6 & 11)) have been pretty much everywhere that is known as a beach travel destination.
Nothing compares to experience of Costa Rica. This is our 3rd trip and 1st Not all-inclusive. Not to say that we are going back in November.

Samara is the most tranquil and surreal town. Whether you are enjoying many of their delicious restaurants, taking surfing lessons or strolling the beach as a herd of wild horses walk by.
Place is absolute heaven. This is not your typical tourist packed beach. Surfer instructor said to me that he hates how packed the beach was that day - there were probably 100 people for 2 miles of beach.

If you get too hot, then get yourself a drink in one of the many restaurants or get an ice cone from a local vendor right by the water. And of course nothing beats coconut water from the coconut for $1

Can't wait to go back to paradise.

A beautiful beach with lots of activities available including surfing, SUP, kayaking, horseback riding, beach restaurants and bars.....the list goes on. Shade is at a premium but umbrella and louge chair rentals are available at a reasonable price.

This is the perfect beach to escape to. We were there for a week and quickly fell in to the relaxed, fun vibe. The beach is very big so you can find your own spot and watch the activity or move way on your own for peace and quiet. There is some shade but it may be wise to bring a beach umbrella. The water is beautifully warm (we're from Maine) and the beach is quite clean.
