We loved our time at La Gaviota. We inquired about a few details during the booking process. Roberto was prompt and straightforward in his responses. After a long day of driving, we were welcomed with warm smiles, a delicious, fruity cocktail, and an amazing view. The room was spacious, allowing us to unpack, settle in, and relax. The kind staff was always available to help with everything from early morning coffee to ice for our room to yummy local dishes. We will definitely return to La Gaviota!

This small hotel is REALLY a boutique hotel despite so many others purporting to be boutique.
Only 5 rooms with “Sol y Mar” the best which is a suite, beautifully designed with a large terrace over looking the beach.
Immaculately clean with terrific staff. Rooftop pool, which gets a bit hot with minimal shade during the afternoon, but who needs a pool with gorgeous Playa Hermosa just out the door.
Wonderful location, quiet, great breakfast included with traditional and local items.
This is a comfortable place to return to repeatedly!

Muchas gracias, pura vida siempre.

Room tip: Sol y Mar is best choice

Not sure where to start, but this is my 3rd time staying her and it is still by far my wife's and my favorite place to stay in Costa Rica. Roberto is a great host and his staff is amazing as always. The highlight of the stay was the rooftop dinner for my mother n law's birthday for 8 of us. It was a very special night and one our family will not forget. This place treats you like family. The food is amazing and we always have a great time when we stay here. We will be back for sure in the future.

We stayed 4 nights based on a recommendation from friends. La Gaviota is a wonderful boutique hotel located on the beach. Most units have a beach front location with large balconies overlooking the beach. We stayed on the Sol y Mar suite on the 3rd floor, the small elevator was a real plus. The suite had a wonderful large balcony with an ocean view. We had a sitting room and 1 and a half baths. There is a large soaking tub and a very nice double shower with plenty of hot water. The bed was firm and we liked that the bedroom was just off the balcony so we could hear the waves. Roberto’s restaurant on site was very good with 3 meals, breakfast is included with the room, and a nice selection of beverages. Our host, Roberto, was very gracious and helpful with local information and transportation accommodations. While the beach was ok, there isn’t much to say about the town, no shops or stores unless you walk up to the highway and uncollected trash everywhere. If you are looking for a nice beach hotel a short drive from the Liberia Airport La Gaviota Tropical is a nice option.
