And see Charlie, the tour guide! We had so much fun! The horses were very responsive and super friendly. They treat them sooo well there! Like family! Which was very nice to see :-)

Our 2-hour sunset horseback riding tour was at Playa Conchal. Charlie, our tour guide, was very sweet and patient. He was an older gentleman that seemed to know everyone along the way. Riding on the beach was amazing. The tour took us through a little neighborhood then through various terrain (forest, hills, beaches). It was a good mixture of being in the sun (hot, hot!) and then cooling off under the trees. After the ride, Charlie offered us fresh watermelon and bottled water.

Tip: (1) It’s probably a good idea to know basic Spanish to be able to communicate with the horses. This was good for beginner riders. (2) Make sure you apply sunscreen before setting off on the ride and even under your clothes if you’re prone to burning! The sun went right through my t-shirt that day!

Cons: The route is shared with ATV riders.

Our group used Arenas Blancas for two adventure trips: 1) rented jet skis for one hour via one-way itinerary meaning pick up in one spot and drop off the skis at a beach to then eat at Coco Loco, and 2) went on an ATV tour of area hidden beaches and snorkel. on many of these beaches, we were the only ones there! Absolutely breathtaking.

Our group included 4 adults and 2 teenagers, ranging from the adventurous to the intrepid.

On both trips, the group had a great time, appreciated the tour guides’ flexibility, patience, good humor and local knowledge. We would highly recommend and have already recommended them to other visitors. Enjoy your tours!

The owner, guide and horses at Arenas Blancas were so wonderful. We rode our horses through a village, up a mountain to two view points, down the mountain, through a coastal forest where we were greeted by the howler monkeys, and then along Brasilito Beach for the beautiful sunset. It was perfect in every way! An experience you would enjoy immensely!

We had a group of 7.
Two adults did the horseback tour and two of us followed along on ATVs.
Our guide was great , Jose. He doesn’t speak much English but you can figure it out as you go along if you don’t speak Spanish

We booked the trip directly with them and saved $10-15 per person compared to what the resort was asking us to pay. We had a rental car so I went there and made the arrangements for our group and returned there later in the day with everyone for the trip.

Horseback riding is great but not essential. We were cantering during the trip several times - something they rarely ever let you do in the US

Wearing long pants helps prevent against chafing if you are running with the horses. We wore swim suits and bright towels. They provided snorkel gear.
We started at the Location (on the other side of the bridge from Lucy’s) and went down the beach ...followed some paths to choncal beach and then to another beach further back...places I want to return to by would have never found without doing this. Beaches were blue and beautiful!!

I would do this again in a minute!
