This has to be the best hotel in Arenal. We stayed in room 417, which is on the top and corner with the view of the volcano and the forest. There were 5 of us including the kids but plenty of room for all of us. The balcony was huge with the hammock we took turns resting while different birds visiting us by the minute. There are more than enough hot springs and lots of things to do right there within the property. Even though you have to pay for all the activities, it was worth the while. We came straight from the Peace Lodge and learned that it was their sister property. No wonder it's nice.

Room tip: Stay at the top floors for the view

We really enjoyed our 4 nights at the Springs. From the welcome drink, to having dinner while sitting in the bar at the pool, to tubing at Club Rio, to the hot springs and even a water slide. Everything was fabulous. We had a great view of the volcano from the room and enjoyed sitting on our porch hammocks. My children especially loved feeding the toucans during the wildlife tour. The only thing that I didn't like is that the hotel is 3.5 kilometers on an unpaved bumpy road. Although we had a car, we ate dinner at the hotel because we did not feel comfortable driving on it at night.

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and the Aernal Volcano area was one of three stops for our week long trip. The Springs Resort was breathtaking! The location is off the main road and feels like entering paradise upon arrival. The guest rooms were amazing - very large with a wonderful balcony complete with a hammock and perfect view of the volcano. All of the amenities were fabulous from the spa, the amazing food at all restaurant locations and the pool and hot springs. The staff go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect! Great resort!

Let me start by saying the resort is visually stunning, the room/suite was huge and well appointed, the service was friendly and accommodating.

Here is my reservation: nothing is included. Your time at the resort is managed by the concierge. On a daily basis you can sign up for activities that are at the resort or with an outside company. It was surprising to me that none of the activities at the resort were included in the price of staying there. Breakfast was not included as it was at the 2 other resorts we visited in Costa Rica. The resort had an animal sanctuary and there is a fee to walk through it. We paid to go tubing, horse back riding and rock climbing. It bothered me that each event was advertised for a specified period of time (2 hours) and ended early (1 1/2 hours). These items are expensive and really enjoyable and I regret now that I did not ask why we ended early. So speak up!

The restaurants were nice. The food was good. My adult children loved the sushi. The service was great. Honestly I would have rather paid up front and had some activities included. We had a great time there and might go back but of the 3 places we stayed in CR this was the most expensive.

I stayed at Springs Resort with my husband and 2 year old and we loved it. They food and service was impeccable, and we could see the volcano every morning from our bed. They have a variety of hot springs and chlorine pools as well. The resort is extremely kid friendly. They have a game room, kids menus at all the restaurants, and shallow pools as well. We received spectacular service throughout the resort. We liked it so much we wanted to stay another night and they let us keep our room. Springs is worth every dime.
