The hotel is walking distance to town but secluded in the country. Rooms are quiet. Excellent air conditioning. From balcony could watch dozens of different birds in the trees. Good pool and hot tubs. Pool bar. Eggs cooked to order at free breakfast buffet. Volcano view from room and restaurant.

Beautiful set up. Enjoyed the rooms. Food is great. Easy to schedule all the local trips right at the front desk with short commutes. Only critique would be the happy hour drinks were pretty watered down.

Very green, relaxing and friendly hotel. There are a lot of birds, ponds with fish and you can do a short hike around. Breakfast was great. Food in the restaurant is delicious, not cheap but totally worth it. Spa is awesome, you get massage listening to the sounds of jungle. There are hot tubs where you can relax after active day. I will definitely stay again.

We had a great time at Casa Luna after a few weeks in the Central America region. This was by far the most developed and professional place we visited (no surprise). All the staff speak English and try to remember your name. They are polite, charming and helpful. The rooms are lovely. Big, spacious, good showers (hot water takes a few minutes to come through, but does eventually), good amenities (great coffee provided in the rooms), nice patio or balcony area, umbrella provided in the room, etc.

We used the spa facilities and had a good experience (one luna massage and one deep tissue). We also booked tours through the hotel that were quite good (we liked the Paradise Hot Springs resort and it was half the price of other options). We used the hotel transport, which was $5 into the town centre ($4 return in a taxi), and $6 to the waterfall (we walked back). Not great value but not awful, either. It would be nice if there was an hourly shuttle to/from the town for a smaller fee.

Two small negatives. First is the wifi. A hotel of this standard and in this area should be providing wifi in the rooms, not just in the public areas. Secondly, due to the area, it rains a LOT, and therefore everything smells a bit damp, as it has obviously over time built up. I also feel it would be a great service to have a couple of industrial tumble dryers so people could dry their stuff after a day out in the rain! That's wishful thinking perhaps, but would be a great and useful service :)

Another note: we are a same-sex couple and the hotel went out of their way to make us feel welcome, which is much appreciated.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel.

Staff is very accommodating. Grounds are lush with vegetation, spread over a walkable area. Accommodations are spread out, affording privacy, but close to get to. Room very clean and comfortable with rain shower and private patio. Great breakfast included, in lovely restaurant with birds entertaining us nearby. Had wonderful seviche and tuna tartare for lunch. Wish we had had dinner there too. There is a nice pool and four hot tub jacuzzis, each separated by greenery. Also a (somewhat rugged) trail to walk to the nearby river and circling back to the property, giving a wonderful experience of being alone in the forest. Many photo ops. Highly recommended and excellent value for the money.
