Our family had a great visit to Casa Cielo! You won't believe what a great home, and great view this is. Paul, Rosy, Stef, Luke and Jr (sweet pup!) are outstanding hosts. The breakfast and dinners Rosy made for us were the best we had in all of Costa Rica. Trust Paul on the various excursions, we loved all of them - hiking the hanging bridges, whitewater rafting and ziplining.
We were a group of 5 friends traveling to CR for the first time. Usually we stay in resorts or hotels, but this time we wanted to try something different. I'm so glad we did! It was better than staying at a resort. Paul was beyond helpful with information, recommended activities, and made it so easy to contact him before & during our stay. His maps were a lifesaver since we got a rental car. One tip: don't follow GPS, use his directions!!! The excursions he set up for us were the highlight of our trip (zip lining, repelling, hot springs, hiking). He really does know everything about the area. The included breakfasts were delicious, we all loved the 'family tico' one. One of the best meals we had all week! Fresh fruit, juice, and omg the hot sauces were awesome. And they serve it with really good coffee poolside and a waterfall near the pool that just makes your morning....the house is beautiful and looks just like the pictures but larger. There was so much room and it was an open floor plan. There's even a bar and hammocks upstairs where the best view is. It was spotless and had everything you need to cook, prepare food, or feel like home. We didn't do any cooking, but ordered some pizzas and sangria off of the house menu. It was so good! Everything is homemade. Casa Cielo offers family dinners, poolside massages, and even to go grocery shopping for you. Definitely great for families. There were plenty of towels and pool towels too. The view from upstairs was insane, I loved waking up to the volcano each morning. Casa Cielo was the perfect package. You get great hosts, tasty food, and beautiful house. Don't forget to ask for a visit from Junior, the most adorable dog. We visited 3 locations in CR, Casa Cielo was our favorite. Highly highly recommend!!! The only thing to mention is that there was no AC, but it was never too warm; lots of fans and blinds.
We started our trip with a rocky start due to airline delays but we soon forgot that when we arrived to Casa Cielo. We were greeted by Paul and his two sweet children as they showed us around their beautiful home. I could not thank them enough for providing a new crib for our 6-month old baby to sleep in along with a mosquito net. It meant a lot to us that they went above and beyond. We ordered the Costa Rican BBQ dinner that night, and that's when we got to meet Paul's beautiful wife who prepared the meal. It was so delicious, the rub that Paul makes was fantastic and the cornbread and beans made by Rosy was out of this world.
The upstairs master has an open view to the volcano, which was a nice sight when waking up in the morning.
Breakfast was served daily, so delicious and fresh.
Paul always went out of his way to make sure we were doing fine, helped us with maps and excursions and just made everything so much easier for us. The home had everything you needed so you were comfortable.
I highly recommend this home if you're ever in Costa Rica and want to enjoy the Arenal Volcano and Hot springs. We just wished we got to stay here longer.
Until next time...thank you Robinson Family!
This is the perfect place to be if you feel like being surrounded by beauty and still close enough to enjoy all the area has to offer. Half the time, we didn't want to leave! The property and home are beautiful and our hosts were available and willing to help us with anything we needed, which was awesome! The meals prepared by Rosie and Paul were AMAZING and we really enjoyed getting to know the family. This was definitely a highlight of our trip!
Casa Cielo is a beautiful home and perfect place to stay while visiting the Arenal area. The house has everything you need to make your stay enjoyable, from the open air bar upstairs to the wonderful outdoor living area and pool. It is remote enough to feel like you are in your own private world but close enough to travel to all area sites and attractions. Paul and Rosy were wonderful hosts and made us feel right at home. The breakfasts served poolside were delicious and a great way to start each day. We had dinner at the property on our last evening and wished we had dined there every evening! Paul booked our Sky Trek adventure and was always helpful in providing us with maps and information regarding the surrounding area as well as providing us ideas for our stay at the beach. If you are looking for a place to stay, look no further......Casa Cielo is the perfect place to stay. Pura Vida!
