The location is great. Direct view of Volcano. Hotel is clean and beautiful surroundings.
Most important the staff is very very friendly. I admire the owner to select the staff. Front desk agents are warm, always smiling, easy to interact and ready to help you.
If your tour starts early they can give you to go packs.
Restaurant staff is friendly too. Good food, reasonably priced. No need to go out. They make good papaya drink, pizza and lunch dinner items.

Room tip: Ask the staff to give the best room available. As simple as that

Bathroom nice size - a lot of ants despite spraying several times
Otherwise clean and the fridge was really useful

Great pizza and lunch burgers were good to
All staff were friendly and helpful
The pool area is small but we enjoyed it and the hot tub was fab

We loved this hotel! Super clean, amazing and super attentive service. Cottages perked on side of the mountain offer great views of Volcan Arenal. Highly, highly recommended. Food is also among the best, pizza is brick-oven made, thin crust, delicious!

Clean and comfortable room, lovely surroundings. Only spent one night, went to the hot springs first, so didn't even get that much time to enjoy the room! Landscaping outside. The volcano was covered in the clouds in the morning, so I didn't get to enjoy the view of the volcano. I'll just have to go back!

We were lucky to visit at a time when the volcano was in full view; we could see it from our windows. I liked everything about this hotel - except for a few things that can't really be changed.

What we liked: Nice clean, quiet room (with a view!). Incredible staff - thank you to the woman at reception who was so helpful and was always trying to practice her English with us. Thank you to Andreas in the restaurant who told us about great places to visit off the beaten track as well as many other incredibly nice personnel. The breakfast was very good and we ate in the restaurant twice for dinner and were not disappointed. The grounds were lovely (beautifully landscaped with flowering trees) and the pool was really nice. The hotel is very accessible to just about everything (if you are driving) and they provide shuttle services to many other area attractions.

The things I didn't like? Our room did have a great view - but if we had the curtains open, we had no privacy; our room looked out on a parking lot and people were often walking by, the room had a big picture window which was great to look out of, but if you were in bed or undressing, you felt like you were on display. The curtains were heavy and dark and let in no light so you would wake up in the morning to birds signing but it was as dark as a bunker. It is too bad that some alternative window treatments couldn't be used. The bathroom had no counter space - there was one little wooden shelf that our even our toothpaste tube kept falling off of. Additionally, it was really damp with very little circulation. We enjoyed drinking our coffee outside in the morning, looking at the view but were kept on a very little stone patio. Lastly, the wifi was very balky, of course, we're not there to check email but when we wanted to, we had to go to the main reception/restaurant area.

Some of these negatives might seem like little things (and indeed, they are) but there were so many things to like about this hotel but just a few things that made it less than perfect.

Room tip: We stayed in room #100 - I would avoid this room if possible.
