As far as bakery's go, this is the best I have found so far. Their assortment is good, as things look different and taste different. Other bakery's I have visited have much that looks different but all taste the same. The Cranberry Nut bread was really good, as was the Cherry Nut bread. It was big enough to share over a coffee and was reasonable at 12rmb. They also have a Garlic Bread French Roll that is really good. Don't look for Jelly Donuts, or Cinnamon buns. You will have to find a Western Bakery for that. English was not spoken by the help that I encountered, but thats OK, as the cases are self serve, and the coffee board is large enough to point to. Ordering coffee I have found to be a challenge in Shanghai in general. My standard "regular" which would be coffee with cream and sugar, does not exist. But I'm not in NY. So order an Americano and get milk or cream, and sugar on the side. I would suggest morning visits. The Bakery is one of the few places open late night 10-11pm, but the selection drops off after about 1pm.
