i go to this place just for some food and drinks, and just chill. there are lots of bars to choose from, some with live bands singing away. there's also a shopping mall nearby. good place to sit and chill and enjoy a drink or two.

It is a re designed and redone to cater to the hordes of tourists, till it has lost its charm. Everywhere I see, Starbucks, Haagen Daz etc. You get the picture.
I came to look at the architecture and try to imagine how it was then.

This is still one of the best urban revitalization project created in Shanghai.

Even though many of the buildings were reconstructed in the old 'shikumen' style, it nevertheless has immense charms and characters to enliven the place to make it one of the most relaxing place for an afternoon or evening visit.

I had a lovely evening sitting outside for dinner and going to the local jazz clubs. No traffic, easy walking and great for people watching. Restaurant are plenty offering diverse international food options, they are however a little more expensive compared to other parts of the city - overall decent value.
