There is nothing what I can really complaint about except the breakfast, which is totally pathetic and pretty bad( thankfully there is a Starbucks around the corner). The rooms are huge, bathrooms are small, beds are kingsize and nice, but somehow there is nothing to really brag about and the whole atmosphere wasn t very inviting. Location is good and value for money....

The location of the hotel is great, rooms are ok but that is basically the good thing about it.
But the AC in the room cannot be adjusted. You can either chose to sleep in a fridge or turn it off.

Hygiene is not very good, found a big bunch of hair in one of the towels. When I reported the issue they asked me if I needed to use the bathroom now and why?

Check in was very unfriendly (even though we were checked in by the supervisor!). No smile, poor grooming, unfriendly words and the best - next to her behind the desk was a staff in a black dress drinking orange juice out of a plastic bottle and chewing whatever... Not very professional!

All elevators are also used by the staff and they don't even make room for guests, also no greeting, smile etc.

The bell hops were friendly but not the most skillful.

Also very odd: Inside the room on the desk were 4 letters (on cheap, wrinkly paper): 1 promoting the restaurant and all 3 others asking the guest to "apologize the inconvenience" for construction noise, decoration smell, no working networks etc.

Not to recommend!

Room Tip: Rooms not facing the big construction site

HoJo? You sure?

Well, don't let its name gives you the halo effect of that kind of impression.

Go in, check in, and stay. Then only you will realise, the halo will have to go.

The room were very well designed and decorated.

Very good bed and comfortable.

Room service is great. Not going to comment on the food as it is very subjective.

To me it is good enough.

Nice location to easy access to many places close by to the hotel.

Don't let the halo effect takeover your views. Give it another look and you are not going to regret it In fact it may even change your perception too.

Stayed here in Shanghai for business/leisure visit.

The hotel itself was very clean and luxurious. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable regarding the local area. Room temperatures could be more easily controllable. The thermostat in the room did not appear to work properly. Great vertical iron though!

Breakfast was great and offered both traditional Chinese and American options. The spa up top was first-rate although rather expensive.

Relatively close to several areas, although would have to cab to The Bund or French Concession.

Great option for a business trip. It's also great to see a somewhat dead US hotel brand reinvent itself in international locales.
