The hotel is located in the best possible location, in the centre of the city. Hotel is great, big rooms, clean, quiet. Breakfast wasn't good at all, but the rest was great!! Highly suggested! I would definitely come back here as it is great value for money. location is the best!

Room Tip: location, value for money

Let me start with good things: very big room, good equipped and clean.
Great location for everybody who is looking for a main shopping street just around the corner, lights, flashes, millions of people ,restaurants etc. There are also underground stations nearby.
Well, there are also worse sides: very rude staff, poor breakfast and people smoking cigarettes everywhere even if it is prohibited. It is not nice to stay in a lift with someone who smokes..Generally Chinese people are not very friendly, moreover nobody speaks English and it creates problems at reception desk, at the restaurant and when you need any help or advise from Hotel staff. To summarise location+ room ok, Staff, reception desk, breakfast- better not comment

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter.

The location is the best thing this hotel has to offer. When you walk out the door, you're in the middle of Shanghai, 10 min walk from the Bund and 5min from People's square, right next to the building that me and my sister called "Sauron" (good for orientation on the way home). Paid on our check in, no problems there. Staff was not friendly, but we didn't have any issues apart from that. Rooms are nice and clean, toothbrushes, soap and all that stuff. There are breakfast served (for an extre fee i think) 7-9 am, but we never ate there since we wanted to explore city's breakfast options. All in all - good experience.

Stayed here as a lone female over Christmas & Boxing Day. Fantastic location, literally just a few steps from Nanjing Road & very accessible from the rest of the main attractions of the city & metro stations. I felt safe staying by myself both in the hotel & in the city.

The reception staff weren't the friendliest but check in was adequate, even with a language barrier. Breakfast wasn't mentioned to me so I wasn't aware of it

Bedroom was small but sufficient, very comfortable bed, kettle & mugs in room plus TV. Bathroom was tiny like a capsule bathroom with the shower being over the toilet!! Shampoo, shower gel, toothpaste & toothbrush, comb, shower cap & slippers included. Wifi was picked up in my room with no problems

No-frills accommodation but I would certainly stay again if visiting Shanghai purely for the location!
