“great service and location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 March 2012

I went to Tokoriki for my birthday. We had just 4 nights on the island and it exceeded our expectations. The staff are amazing and remembered our names. The band were awesome, I can't believe they know so many songs! The snorkeling is great and the reef really is just off the beach! The bures were always clean with fresh flowers and the day of my birthday the lovely Lousia our cleaner had made a sign 'Happy birthday' with torn up leaves! just amazing. Definately planning on returning and will be recommending to everyone!

Room Tip: Bures are close together but hidden and still quiet!

Bula Jen,

We are delighted you enjoyed your birthday stay with us in Feburary especially Luisa's decorated floral bed, birthday cake with our wonderful serenaders (human juke boxes) singing the best happy birthday ever! A birthday Fiji style is certainly one to remember. We look forward to welcoming you 'home' to Tokoriki soon. Do let us know if you have any friends coming over to visit us at any time so that we can pop a bottle of bubbles in their room from us on your behalf! Vinaka from all the team!

After months of searching for the perfect honeymoon destination, and watching reviews on trip advisor, we kept coming back to Tokoriki Island Resort FIJI and ended up booking for 8 nights. This is the best thing we have ever done, this resort is absolutely paradise.

We have just returned from by far the most memorable 8 nights of our lives. The first thing you need to understand is this is a remote Island - they generate their own power, catch their own drinking water, and all the supplies arrive by boat. This does make some things a little more expensive, but it is well worth it!

We arrived and departed by helicopter as this was included as part of the current promotion (stay 7 nights & get free return helicopter transfers). In our opinion this is the only way to get to the island, as it's a short 15 minute flight from Nadi airport, over the most beautiful water, beaches, and islands of the pacific. Excellent photo opportunities!! The alternative is a taxi to the wharf, and then a boat for around 90 minutes. From the moment we were greeted at the landing helicopter, we knew we were in for a magical stay.

The resort itself is set on a beautiful sandy beach and coral reef, with excellent snorkelling & diving right at your doorstep. The main "bure" overlooks the infinity pool, and is the centre of entertainment, and all meals.

We stayed in a beachfront bure, which was very spacious, clean, modern, well appointed, and overlooked a beautiful sandy beach. The only other room type the resort offers is a sunset pool villa, which is around $200au more per night, and gives you a private plunge pool. In our opinion, the beachfront bures are more than sufficient. The outdoor shower was fantastic - I didn't use the indoor shower at all during our stay. Each bure has your own private beach, with your very own hammock.

We opted to take advantage of a meal plan - $100au per person per day for a cooked & continental breakfast, 2 course lunch, and 3 course dinner. We cannot rave highly enough about the food here - it was 5 star at every meal, and the same standard of meal you would expect at Australias top restaurants. High compliments to all the chefs at Tokoriki! The a la carte menu changes daily, with the exception of Sunday night which is Mongolian BBQ, and Wednesday which is traditional Fiji Lovo night. We were excited to try everything on the menu, and were constantly impressed. It is truely a world class dining experience, with the added bonus that you are serenaded at your own private table every day. Ask for Hotel California - with a Tokoriki twist :)

We also took advantage of an unlimited spa package - $500FJD for unlimited treatments for 5 days. The spa is a recent addition to the island, and independent of the resort, but highly recommended. The treatments were pure bliss, and a great way to unwind. Special mention to Miriama, she is a true asset to the spa.

There is as much or as little to do on this island as you like. You are left to do as you please, but if you get bored, there is plenty to do - daily snorkelling, and diving trips, as well as trips to nearby Castaway Island, Village Tour, Island Hopping, and Sunset cruises. We did do an introductory dive, and the experience was brilliant - compliments to Alex in the dive shop - been there for 12 years!

There are also nightly activities such as crab races, coconut sling races, and of course who could forget the kava ceremony - a must do. You are not pressured to participate in any of these, but I highly recommend you do, as they are all great fun! But if you are looking for a place you can go clubbing to all hours, this is not the island for you. It is a couples island, specially catering for honeymooners, and have a strict no under 13's allowed.

By far, Tokoriki's best asset is it's staff. They remember you on a first name basis after 1 day, and go out of their way to make sure your stay is pleasurable. No request is too hard. A special mention to Joshua and Mosses (Rafiki the monkey) - they are absolutely hilarious, and have voices from the gods. We also had the pleasure of meeting Andrew, the owner, during our stay, and he is a true inspiration.

This is by far not the cheapest resort you can pick, but if you want a once in a lifetime experience, this is the place. Stop hesitating and just book it. Tokoriki and it's staff made our Honeymoon perfect, and will be in our hearts forever! We set the bar very high for our Honeymoon, and Tokoriki well exceeded all our expectations! We will be back, to spend time with our Tokoriki family again. So very true, arrive a visitor, leave as a friend.

My husband and I stayed at this Island Paradise for a week in November to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Every detail was magnificent. The people warm and friendly; the menu fabulous (try the Sandy Ice Cream!) with delicious dally specials; activities if you want them; live music by the 'Band Boys' very moving; flowers and coconuts galore; clean, well appointed rooms with fresh flowers daily and on your pillow in the evening. We even had an entertaining thunder storm! The sunsets viewed either from our bure or the lounge, were spectacular - changing every evening. Loved the torch lighting ceremony at sunset too with the Fijian drums and the torch bearer. My husband became a certified scuba diver at the dive shop. He is now spoiled for any other diving - the water in Tokoriki is so amazingly clear and he saw a lot of sea life. The visit to the neighbouring island Yanuya was wonderful and to be a part of a kava ceremony very special. The swimming is fabulous as the island lagoon offers protection from the open water. The memories of our vacation have kept us warm during our cold Canadian winter...

Bula Kevin, a big vinaka vakalevu from all the Tokoriki team for visiting our paradise and sharing your review with all. It was a pleasure to have you stay with us for your 25th Wedding Anniversary and we are delighted you enjoyed our very special band boys serenading you every night at dinner. They are just about to make their new CD - we will updated the details on our Facebook page. The famous Sandy Icecream will be waiting for you on your next visit, as it is our only dessert that is permanently on our daily changing menus. As you know it is a real treat. Our Exec Chef has just been rubbing shoulders with Chef Robert Oliver (world top selling cookbook) and 10 other top international Chefs from around the globe at Fiji's first South Pacific Food & Wine Festival. He has picked up many new and creative ideas for his menus (showcasing South Pacific produce and ingredients. Vinaka once again for your review and we look forward to seeing you again soon at Tokoriki!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was amazing. They were so welcoming and the room we stayed in was so nice. It had a beautiful outdoor shower and bed with couch overlooking a private beach area. The beach was lovely and the water crystal clear and warm. There were many activities that you could do throughout the day if you wanted. The pool was nice and staff seemed to care about each individual guest recognizing them at dinner and genuinely seeming like they wanted to make your stay the best.
