A delayed review but not forgotten! We have travelled many times to Fiji having stayed at Jean-Michel Cousteau, Inter-Continental Fiji and Musket Cove at nearby Malolo Lai-Lai Island (awful), and Malolo Island Resort was our favourite. It ticked all the boxes for us, and we preferred it over JMC noting ease of travel and more cost effective yet still a high standard of resort. We stayed in Bure 9 which was the perfect location for us- close to the beach bar for sunset drinks and close to the water. Special mention regarding the food which was exceptional.

Room tip: All bures are great, not far from the water.

We stayed at the Malolo Island resort in the last week.
A beautiful Island only equalled by the beautiful staff and five star food.
A special thanks to Jim , Zack and the team who all made our family holiday one to remember . The resort facilities are wonderful and the activity team of Jim ,Api , Titi and the boys were very happy to help in any way. Special thanks to Ace, Mere ( x 3 ) and Radu who attention to detail and service was second to none.
The villas are well appointed and very clean and tidy.
The food was amazing from breakfast through to lunch and 5 star dinners.
Big thank you to everyone .

We had a beach bura, it was beautiful and they even stocked the cookie jar with island made coconut shortbread cookies every few days! Staff was amazing, breakfast buffet had something for every taste. They have an organic veggie farm and chickens on site so freshness of some items was great! The resort was so clean and the landscaping beautifully maintained. Some people there did not like that the bay in front recedes each late morning or afternoon but we thought it was an interesting change and have no complaints on anything.

Malolo Island Resort made for an amazing vacation, especially with the family. From the moment we arrived to the day we checked out, our experience was exactly how a Fijian island vacation should be.

When we pulled up to the dock the first day, Fijians sang us a welcome song and greeted us with warm hospitality. The resort is absolutely stunning! A true tropical paradise with white sand beaches, crystal teal-blue water, serene natural landscaping, and beautifully crafted traditional Fijian grand reception surrounded by plantation-style beach cottages or 'bures'. We stayed in the second-story Family Bure and it was spectacular.

The friendly staff really made things easy for us. The biggest decision we had to make each day is to decide which hammock to nap in. There were plently of them hanging from the abundant palm trees along the water. It is a beautiful setting and ultimately calming.

There was also plenty to do for the five days, and we could have easily stayed longer. Our days were filled with all-inclusive water sports like stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, sailing, and snorkeling right off the beach. The equipment was cared for and in good, safe, working condition. They also had excellent options for snorkeling excursions. We did Mociu Private Island and also an open reef snorkling excursion with our two kids, ages 6 and 9. We felt very safe. The staff was always on standby - all we had to do is wave them over when our kids got tired to pick them up on the boat. The snorkelling was amazing - some of the best we've ever experienced.

And then, the best thing ever, their complimentary Kids Club. Wow! The staff did such a fantastic job and they were so very genuinely caring.

The Kava ceremony was fun. Jesse did a great job. Throughout our time there, he went above and beyond to ensure all the guests were having a good time - and so did the staff actually especially for the Saturday traditional dance Meke, too. Fijians really know how to sing! It's was a highlight of our stay - so very cool!

The food was delicious, and there were many great options at all meals. The Treetops Restaurant was top notch. Saturday's Fijian Lovo was delicious. I never grew tired of the menu at the Beach Bar, either. For Breakfast, the buffet was a good option. It would have been nice if the Beach Bar served a simple breakfast, too. Overall, food options were great value.

Everyone was so nice and hospitable that we were sad to say good bye to them. Until next time Malolo Island Resort - we hope to visit again soon! Bula!

Room tip: All rooms seem to have good views in good locations.

The food was excellent (suggest you get the meal package); burr was right on the beach and spotless (loved the Hampton style decor throughout the whole resort). But most of all, the staff were just lovely. When you arrive, the Fijian always say "welcome home" and this place truly felt like it. A lot of the staff have worked there for 10-15 yrs which speaks volumes in itself.
