While this is a nice location and a nice property, the staff was what set it off. The lady who ran the breakfast area offered an actual sincere "good morning" to the patrons while keeping the area stocked and cleaned while dealing with throngs of people. She upgraded my grits one morning.
The front staff was good as well. We were lucky enough to be there at Easter and they organized an Easter Egg Hunt for the kids with eggs and prizes hidden throughout the building. The social media coordinator who was in charge of this was very nice. Even the housekeeping staff was always happy and gave us sincere greetings (and eggs).
I've been in luxury and resort properties where we were not treated as nice as we were at this Hampton.
It would be easy for an beach hotel to be dirty, but they kept on top of it. They were always cleaning the public areas, restrooms, etc.
It's a nice location with restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, etc right across the road.
There are only a few negatives. The Alabama Department of Transportation has made it difficult to get in and out with a U-turn necessary to do almost everything. The Wi-Fi and Business Center web connections were sketchy, but why was I checking my email in the first place?More
