The room and hotel itself was really nice and centrally located. However the staff was really slow and did not fulfill our request.

The check-in process took around 20 minutes. The lady in the reception was friendly, but I think it was an error in her system. We called the reception three times to get a hairdryer and got told that they would bring it to us. We never got it.

The pool area was nice, but the sauna was out of service

The restaurant was empty and the waiter did not seem interested in having us, so we did not eat there

I wanted to use the laundry service and went to the reception. The man there asked me to call housekeeping. The lady answering the phone did not speak well English and after 5 minutes on the phone I gave up

Overall the hotel is okay, but the staff needs to improve their communication

The Manager on Duty, Miss Cecelia was very very helpful. She went the extra mile to help with bookings of cab, restaurant ad also advises what are some of the recommended food, places and area of interest that we should visit. Thanks to her good personalized customer service extended. The Housekeeper, Ms Dee Vi Lan displayed good initiatives in her job. She was suppose to go to Level 2 while on the way down in the same lift that we were in. When reached Level 2, we told her that she had reached her exit level. She told us that she would like to clean up the lift first before leaving the lift. Later we noticed that the lift were all wet. She could have just ignored that duty. Seeing her initiative, we told her that we have contacted for our washroom to be cleaned up which was left unclean after the plumber repaired some piping problems in the bathroom earlier on. We request for her help and give her our room number. When we return from dinner, we noticed that our bathroom was indeed very very clean. Thanks to her effort and prompt respond.

Booked in for two nights. Was initially worried as the building looked old from the outside. But were we pleasantly surprised. Friendly and helpful desk staff, big clean room and away from traffic. Great food nearby. What else do you ask for. Will return.

Room Tip: 14th floor even numbers rooms

Room was slightly old but clean. However due to the flooring type, we can hear a lot of movement from the room above you. Toilet could be cleaner. Room aircon is better then some more expensive hotels that i've been to. TV had some problem (audio related) but i don't case since i'm just transiting. Breakfast spread was slightly below average. Staffs were friendly and forthcoming. Overrall, not a bad hotel for a short stay. Thanks bayview hotel Melaka.

Hi Noorazharrami,
Thank you so much for your review in Trip Advisor. The vinyl floor helps us to maintain clean and odor free rooms but unfortunately they do not suppress sound as well as carpeted flooring. I am sorry that this have affected you in an unpleasant way.
We have also noted your comment on the toilet and TV where we are currently carrying out improvements in stages, we hope to get this completed soon.
As for our breakfast, we have always courted ,mixed love hate feedback which we review from time to time and and change where necessary. We also welcome requests and suggestions from guest to improve our morning spread whenever we can.
We truly appreciate constructive feedback where we can scrutinize the comments and improve as needed and we thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us and for staying at the Bayview Hotel Melaka.

We stayed here quite a number of years ago and thought it was good value for money so we returned this time. What a disappointment it turned out to be. We got a family suite, expecting it to be at least as pleasant a stay as back then but the room corridor had an awful musty smell, the room entrance light was spoilt, the sink was choked, the toilet had no toilet paper, the beds were way too hard and the pillows were cheap and too hard as well. All pillows were different but similar in that all were uncomfortable. The sheets were also threadbare. Breakfast was pathetic. Needless to say, we're never going back again
