ND Hotel is close to shopping, historical sights, and dining. It is a clean and comfortable room with great staff to answer all of your questions. It is a simple room with flat screen TV (none in English), excellent a/c and good internet connection. If arriving by bus, I would recommend taking a taxi ($20 Ringgit).

The room is nice but we can hear people walk and talk outside. But for a cheap and pleasant hotel stay, this is recommended. They even have their own carpark where u can park for free and its a 5 min walking distance to Taming Sari Tower and Dataran Pahlawan.

This hotel was last minute booked 1 day before I arrive to Malacca. I spoke to Jason and he reserve 2 room with no deposit. On that day, I was no able to make it on time and he is willing to reserve the 2 room for me till 4pm. That day was a very peak and he can actually release the room to others. I booked a deluxe king room, the room is small, clean and bright. The toilet is also clean as compare to some other budget hotel. The staffs were helpful and friendly. But only the towel is dark and look dirty. This is the only thing this hotel got to improve.

I too found this establishment via Air BnB. It is not a private residence, it is a hotel, which is clear from the listing. Enterprising proprietor Jason is using the AirBnB platform to increase his international visitation and market reach.

That said, Jason provides a highly personalised, and personable, service. He is almost always on hand at reception to greet and offer suggestions and local knowledge.

The room I was given had no window, which was a shame for my three-night stay (although I did only initially book for two nights). It was however spotlessly clean and had all the necessities, if it did lack in charm. My only complaint is that there was little to no sound insulation from the hallway, which was an issue when other less considerate guests returned late at night and proceeded to make a lot of noise (or failed to stop their small children from doing so).

It is fairly centrally located for visiting Malacca’s historic heart, although being near the mouth of the river, it was a little isolated returning late in the evening, possibly an issue for solo women travellers.

Ten minutes walk from the attractions of Melacca in a quiet back street and close to plenty of food outlets. This hotel is run by a team of very professional and friendly staff. The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. This is always my hotel of choice when visiting Melacca.
