Pros: cheap, nice location, parking available.
Cons: small room, dusty, stains in the bathroom tiles, old furniture, old big tv with very few channels, air conditioning leaks then stopped working, pathetic breakfast, a reception that hardly smiles.

This is actually a very nice hotel. Its hotel decoration is typically of the nonya heritage and the location is perfect. Only thing here is their rooms and furniture should be upgraded. They are abit too old and they are still using those big box TV sets with limited TV programmes in their superior rooms (most have no windows except a few). Their toilet wall (mosaic type) is stained. Some of the rooms have moldy smell in them and some wall paints are are starting to peel off. Also, some of their room mirrors are old and stained. The pillows are thin. Their bottled water in the room has no labels so I wouldn't be surprised if they fill up the water themselves and closed the caps. There was also a mosquito in my room. As for breakfast, I think you would prefer to eat outside cos they do not have much varieties.

This hotel is in a great location, near Jonker Street, near museums, near some really good restaurants. And it is inexpensive. The only thing I didn't like was there were no windows in the room...I felt claustrophobic and wondered how I would exit if the door was barred. Some rooms do have windows but we were on a budget. Parking is hard to find in Melaka but there is parking behind the hotel...nice!!!! Baba House was a fun hotel to stay at and the location couldn't have been better.
