i cant remember when i was there but the service that this small cute hotel gives was on top of the world and the front desk staff by the name of Mr. CF Lim was the best. He check me in very fast and i no need to wait for a long time like some others hotel i have been ( no need to say the name) anyway Mr. Lim was very friendly and nice and very helpful too, i ask him alot about what they have in the hotel he just aunswer me with what the i wan to know, and the knowlage that he have about Malacca was on the tip of his finger i was very very impress about this haha. The room was very beautiful and lovely and every thing was grand, your staff Mr. Lim also did call up to my room and ask is every thing ok? do i need any thing? if i do, do let him know. i was so touch by this when the staff (Mr. Lim) take me as if i was a family member that come over to visit an other family member, it feel like home but better. Will come back soon to this nice small friendly home in the city. Oh ya thanks alot Mr. Lim hope to see u soon, take care

This was our second visit to the Majestic and everything was just as we remembered! Whether you wish to sight-see or just want a week-end getaway the Majestic is absolutely perfect. When you arrive its almost as if you step into a different time and place. The main part of the hotel is a restored mansion from the early 1900s. The Rooms are spotless and beautifully appointed. The restaurant has good food, with an old-world ambience - piano playing in the background and quiet conversation will make you fall in love all over again!. However, this review would not be complete without proper praise for the staff, who are extremely gracious in every way. For example, the doorman Raju - opened my car door and said Welcome Back Madam - which bowled me over. We had visited 5 months before and he remembered! Impressive! There is no hustle and bustle - just warm friendly service and the hotel tries to accommodate every whim. The Spa is fabulous - our special treat when there.

Location is out. Don’t be deceived by the map!

I decided to stay in this hotel because of the review I read in tripadvisor. Being rank #1 I have full of hopes for my stay. But…

Told to call us when the room is ready, but no call received. When asked the room is just done.

Name was address wrongly at check-in, when call for assistance and during check-out, I think the staff there really need help perhaps the systems need to improve to help the staff. It is very annoying when you have to keep correcting the same person!

Request for Spa treatment to be on waitlist and again no call. I believe a call to inform a IN-HOUSE guest on the situation don’t cost much.
Here come the disaster at 12.20am a loud noise, need to communicate at least three times repeated calls and again wrong name addressed. Mentioned pipes leak, it sound like a broken dam and they are repairing now. Frighten awake in the middle of the night mentioned that we converse tomorrow. Again in the morning 7.20am the noise came back up again.

Arrived at the mansion for breakfast after a long wait a service staff came forward asking do we have reservation? I am puzzled. Poor quality of food and coffee/tea only served when asked.

A hotel under the YTL group and part of Small Luxury Hotels… wondering what will they do for service recovery? Not a single words was mentioned upon our departure. Haiz…

The Majestic has the same beautifully furnished rooms as in other YTL resorts. It is marred however by weak air conditioning in the fierce Malaysian tropical heat and very thin walls which allow conversations in the next room to be heard very clearly.

Service is impeccable and friendly. Had a shower before dinner and on returning, found that the towels and soap were replaced. Pool is very small, next to a small glass walled gym. Good for cool soak on a hot day but not serious swimming.

Location is a bit out of the town centre, just beyond comfortable walking distance in the heat of the day. Don't bother driving to town either due to heavy traffic and lack of parking. The hotel driveway has a small car park and the bell hops are very assertive (the only black mark on staff attitude) in making you park at their other car park at the back of the hotel which is impossible to find through some small dark alley off the street behind. The huge hospital dwarfing the hotel on 2 sides made it difficult to find even the front entrance. Looks like the architect forgot to connect the car park at the rear to the front. And if you do manage to find a place to park on the front forecourt of the hotel, an open sewer runs along one side on the other side of the fence. Can't see it because of the cleverly placed plants along the wall but you can certainly smell it .

In summary, it is a great hotel in a not so great location. Would prefer a closer hotel like the Equatorial with less luxury but with greater convenience of being able to walk to town.

Drove from Singapore to Malacca - located just next to the hospital. Parking space is limited infront of the hotel but there are ample of lots in an open space parking just behind the hotel. The room itself is spacious, clean and nicely renovated and the staffs are friendly. There is a small gym next to the pool but the pool is really small. They have nuts/ biscuits/ sweets/ sour plums place at different corner of the lobby and guests can just help themselves. Breakfast for 2 adults come together with the room, however, if you have kid and you wish to order a b/f set for him/ her, be prepared to pay RM 35++ I think the charges are a bit on the high side. We went for the high tea and lunch, serve only at the hotel lobby instead of the restaurant on the 2nd floor. Again, the charges are expensive but the food is good.
Overall, I think it is a nice place to stay but the room charge is exorbitant. I will only go back if the charge goes down to SGD200 per nite.... current rate of SGD 270 is definitely not worth it. Given a choice, I will go back to Equatorial Hotel as the price is reasonable.
