i love the fact tat the staff are always smiling and they seem to enjoy their work a lot.

the beds are comfy and the rooms are huge. one special thing is that the room is divided into 2 parts, each containing a TV.

there is free, unlimited wifi at the ground lobby and at the restaurant level.

The location of this hotel is good. It is linked to a bridge that takes one to the shopping mall. The room is comfortable, with a separate TV area. The walls are thin though and we could hear what was happening at the corridor clearly. The breakfast is okay. The range of food is good, if you are not too fussy. Somehow, this hotel feels like a 3 star, although it should be 4 star. I might have been affected by its lack of attention on details, like the way they laid their carpets, which made the place look untidy. On the whole, this is a hotel for tourists who are looking for basic comfort and proximity to shopping malls.

Stayed one night last week.

Checkin was smooth - we checked in at 4.30 pm.

View was very good - 16th Floor sea facing (much better than the Holiday Inn - which had glazed windows).

Only blip was the choked bathroom shower - which took them 30 minutes to get someone to fix it.

Room rate included breakfast (thru Agoda) - great deal (less than US$100 per nite).

Breakfast spread was good - crowded for a Thurs am - 2 KFC staff on their company's retreat had to share the table with us.

Check out was a breeze (at 10 am)

For all Drivers parking at the hotel car park - Do NOT use the Touch-N-Go when you enter the carpark - instead retrieve the Parking Ticket for the front desk to verfications for free parking.

We stayed for 1 night in September 2012. As semi- regular visitors to Malacca, we've watched as the hotel was being built.

The hotel is in an excellent location and looks at first glance every bit the top- shelf hotel it is made out to be. However, there are little things that soon give the game away. My impression is that this is a 5-star establishment run by people who have no clue how to run more than a 3-star hotel.

There was a property exhibition in front of the hotel. Granted, the exhibition was to market the Hatten Residences, which are part of the same building. However, the exhibition took up HALF of the HOTEL driveway. On hindsight, perhaps that was the first clue as to the management's real focus.

The lifts are an impossibly long walk from the main entrance, which is in itself a little drab and small, given the market that this hotel is pitched at.

Rooms were very modern and well- designed. However, the room looked 5 years old, even though the hotel is barely 4 months old. Doors were looking a little shabby, and there was 1 remote for 2 TVs. No satellite TV, just terrestrial TV and in-house channels. No wifi (not even paid) either. The drainage grill thingy in the shower was rust-stained and the floor had obvious discolouration from seepage.

Toiletries provided (1 toothbrush only??!!!), but absolutely nothing that you would have the urge to bring home with you.

Minibar fridge was empty, which is strange both from a service and profit-making perspective.

Walls were VERY thin. Nuff said.

Last word of warning- I noticed that, on the 12th floor, where the pool is located, there were a number of rooms which overlooked the pool area. The pool area is cordoned off by a high wall about a meyre from the windows, which means that your pool view is in fact a wall view.

3-star hotel trapped in the body of a 5-star, but good enough if the price is right.

Room tip: Avoid the 12th floor. I have also heard some unconfirmed reports that some rooms have no windows. Ask if in doubt.

Stayed 1 night here for business trip.

Pricing is not that expensive since it is very close to shopping mall and dataran pahlawan. The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly.

Willing to stay here again when going to Melaka.
