I love the hotel and the room I stayed in facing the river. The architecture of the hotel and the wood work of the furniture in the room and the entire hotel lends a charm and a grandeur feel.We were welcomed with a personalised messaged painted on a leaf with lime sorbet and the staff was helpful and friendly. The room very spacious with a big balcony overlooking the river was a delight. The bathroom and the walkin wardrobe was very comfortable and spacious. The food served in the restaurant as well as the breakfast was delicious. The free wifi in the hotel was efficient and fast. Walking distance to all the locations nearby and Jonker street and night market, this hotel adds a charming touch to the stay. Beautiful hotel, comfortable stay and highly recommended!!

Room tip: stay in river facing rooms

Casa del Rio is a prime property, the costliest as well, located in the heart of Melaka within 3 to 5 mins walk to Jonker street, Stadthuys, Christ Church and even Pak Putra. We booked river view room with balcony and it has all the elements of luxury in small town, most importantly the river view at the night and the local club from across the river playing music at night. The hotel has all good amenities, a small temple as well within the premises, two fountains and a very nice pool on roof top with a bar adjacent to it. The bathroom is big, the balcony is relaxing and housekeeping staff are very particular on details which is always good to find.
On one hand, their breakfast is mediocre with limited spread. They try to pitch more to the crowd from outside Asia. But I doubt they have a well trained chef to manage that. However, their usual pernakan set lunch is ok.
I recommend this hotel for relaxing experience at Melaka.

Dear jayantchandra

Greetings from Casa del Rio Melaka,

Thank you for visiting Casa del Rio, we are very happy to read through your Casa experiences.
You have seemed to be a little concerned over the food, the breakfast spread is an extended continental selection, although we still offer some hot dishes, apart from this all guest can choose from the a la cart menu for a complete breakfast selection, this experience ensures that you breakfast quality is maintained, many of our guest do welcome this experience. We do offer a diverse selection of cuisine, this mirror the melting pot of Malaysian cuisines, and yes our chef grew up through many fine dining & boutique establishments both internationally and throughout Malaysia he is both an expert on western and SEA cuisine, on your next visit do ask him to make any of your favorites, he will be happy to please.

We hope to see you soon again.

All the best

We spent three nights at the Casa del Rio Melaka for a long weekend getaway. The hotel was a delight after the nightmare drive from Singapore. We checked in after 9 p.m., and were greeted with friendly, sympathetic staff members who offered us a refreshing lime-ginger sorbet and cool towel. Check-in was easy and efficient.

Our room was on the third floor with a view of the river. All the rooms come with a nice-size balcony. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and had a nice historical decor. The room came with high-speed WiFi that was fast and reliable. The only minor issue was that the air condition never cooled the room down to the temperature specified on the thermostat, but the ceiling fan did a nice job keep the cool air circulating.

A huge selling point of the hotel is its location -- steps away from the bustling Jonker Street and Night Market. It is also walking distance to many of the tourist spots in Malacca, if you don't mind the heat. At night, we could hear muffled sounds of karaoke and over-exuberant singers, but it was always muffled and did not deter us from sleeping.

The hotel also had a nice infinity pool on the roof; it was empty every time we went to see it. We were very disappointed that we didn't pack our bathing suits.

Staff was friendly and helpful, and spoke English and Chinese well.

We highly enjoyed our stay and will recommend it to anyone looking for a hotel in Malacca.

This hotel is located on the Melaka River, right in the heart of all the action. The rooms are very big, well laid out, with private balconies, and every thing is quality. The front desk staff are delightful and highly accommodating. Some reviews talk of
issues with the housekeeping staff, and there were a few minor issues (such serious things as not changing crockery !!) which did not concern us, as the staff were extremely pleasant.
The dining staff were equally pleasant and went out of their way to make every visit a great experience.
Of the hundreds of hotels in Melaka (one for every corner plus a few more for good measure) it is easy to see why Casa del Rio gets the #1 vote.
Highly recommended.

It is literally besides the Jonker street, where 5mins walk brings you to the food street. However, this is another headache if you are driving into the hotel as the human & traffic jam which will set you back.

Room is comfortable but furnitures looks abit old looking. Loved the welcome gift - Ondeh Ondeh in the room. Which gave us a taste of melaka before we started our exploration of Melaka town.

Buffet breakfast is good too, there's quite a decent spread of food from the buffet counters & you can also order from their Ala carte menu for your main course.

The only downside here is the Check-in. Took us about 30mins to get all of us checked in(about 6 rooms).
