The Jonker boutique hotel is located on the quiet end of the Chinatown section of the Melaka World Heritage precinct. A beautifully restored old building with lots of heritage charm, this is one of the places you should experience if you want a taste of old Melaka and not another boring chain hotel.

Rooms are really nicely finished with comfortable beds and very modern bathroom amenities. The staff are most welcoming and even cary your bags up to your room (note - there are no lifts).

The hotel itself is a short walk from all the old Melaka attractions - stepping outside the hotel is like walking into a cultural treasure trove. There is a mosque, temple and church within 150m of the hotel and a huge number of small and interesting shops and restaurants - apparently the street is really fun on weekends when traffic is replaced by pedestrians and bazaars.
Overall great value for those who want to experience history and be comfortable!

This hotel is a the center of Jonker Walk a very popular historic tourist destination.
lots of carparks at the back of hotel. night market is at the front of hotel. but the bath which also has the shower in the rooms are too high for old and children to access
safely and the wooden floors can be noisy especially at night.

Room tip: choose a rooom on the top floor as the floor is of wood and can be noisy

Stayed for two nights. Friendly service with the smile started from the moment we walked in for the check in. This continued during the stay for every question that I asked, and until the moment we departed.
We wanted to avoid the "cold" big hotel rooms. Jonker fitted perfectly. It's a classical old building. Once you've left the hallways you enter an original room. Yes the building is older than the big new hotels a bit further up the river. But the room was spacious enough for the four of us, (parents and two kids who found enough space to jump and run).
We wanted to be close to the action, walking distance to Jonker Street and not too far from the river. Jonkers Boutique Hotels fits perfectly. Walk down and have breakfast just next door. Less than fifty meters for an excellent Cendol or typical local Chinese food court, several temples, and of course all the shops.
We would not hesitate to stay again at Jonkers Boutique Hotel.

Enjoy staying at this hotel. The room is clean and spacious and looks antique. The hotel is next to the night market, has its own parking lot, near many coffee shops....definitely will stay at this hotel again....

Stayed at Jonker Boutique Hotel, Melakka for 5 nights. Very nice comfortable rooms, helpful staff but only problem was, there was NO LIFT and there are no rooms on the ground floor. Difficult for senior citizens to climb up and.down :( The location was fabulous.....cafes and shops walking distance....but if someone is looking for quiet and peace....not the right choice. Too much action around especially on weekends when the night market is on RIGHT THERE:)
But we enjoyed being in the midst of it all :)
