We always have one or two visits to this restaurant when we are in Goa.The food is excellent, the service is fantastic and fairly priced for what you get. I love the pate and the crab salad starters and the desserts are superb. Last time we went I had the duck off the specials board and it was coked to perfection. Looking forward ro going again next season.

We go to north goa every year but quite often stay in different resorts, so unfortunately we hadn't visited Soumyens for a good few years.
The food is excellent and terrific value for money!
The home made pate was gorgeous, stuffed mushrooms amazing, and the calamari really tender and crisp!
We often have the fillet when we eat there, repetitive maybe but yet again it was terrific!
Service is super, attentive but not annoying, drinks reasonable and a really good wine list. Wines are expensive but are a decent choice.
All in all almost fine dining at a fraction of the price!
If you're ever in candolim or calangute go! It's definitely worth a visit.

This is our second visit to Chef Soumyen's Kitchen having been February 16 and I would suggest no trip to Goa is made unless you don't like fine dining.
There were 6 of us and we had a wonderful evening.
The fresh crab starter dish with a hint of curry is well worth trying, all the fish and seafood is excellent and he does some of the best steaks in the whole region.
Strangely the most exceptional dish was their bread and butter desert. It is the lightest, best textured and flavoursome one I've ever had. This is highly above most deserts in the area.
Chef when he has finished serving all the mains always goes around all tables talking to his guests.
Top restaurant.

We have dined at Chef Soumyens Kitchen many times over the last few years. There is nothing complicated about the menu and no fancy names put to the fayre on offer, the food is simply but fantastically prepared, cooked and presented. The king prawns as a starter are delicious. The medium rare fillet steak is grilled to perfection. The service from the waiters is courteous and attentive. Chef Soumyen makes time to visit each table to engage in conversation to ensure the dining experience was good. The restaurant is small by comparison to some others in the area but like the food, it is well laid out, clean and has a good atmosphere. The food is a little expensive compared to other restaurants in the area but Chef Soumyen continues to provide an excellent dining experience and value for money for the fayre on offer.

What this restaurant lacks in ambience it compensates with quality. Although pleasant, the dining area is plain but the food is always cooked to a high standard and well presented. The staff are highly attentive without being overbearing.

One of us is vegetarian and there was a reasonable selection; the tagliatelle was delicious. The restaurant's reputation for steaks is well deserved. The blue cheese soufflé is, in itself, a good reason to visit.

One of the best, if not the best, restaurants around Candolim and Calangute.
