We walked from the parking area along the Alms House trail to the 3 caves. It was nice to be in the shade for most of the walk but it was still hot. Bring water and good shoes. The 3 caves were closed with a locked gate but we could feel the wonderful cool breeze from the gate. When we got back to the parking area at 5 PM it was a lot more crowded than when we arrived at 3 PM. It was a beautiful way to spend the afternoon.

Just short drive west of town, several trails converge near parking/ picnic area. Partially following railroad path trail leads to waterfall and scenic views.

Definitely take some time out of the city to enjoy this natural beauty. Lots of great places to drive bike and trails too. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the beauty. Everything does seem to be well kept it's not very crowded for sure.

With so many different places to visit, what is not to love? We have visited each preserve at least once and found that some outshine the rest for us, but that could simply be a matter of opinion. The serenity of these trails and the natural beauty makes them perfect for quiet hikes. We love visiting here!
