Very small rooms. Very noisy outside. Staffes are old fashioned and not so smart enough. Service quality is very poor. Location is good as its nearby to park street or main road. Other than this nothing is great. Suitable for backpackers or very shorter stay. Nt recomended for family or couples.

Room Tip: backside rooms are less noisy.

The snapshot showed was about the single bed room and accomodation was of dormitory type. This was a negative aspect. Speaking about the positives the dormitory was well maintained and sanitized and people were well behaved. Good place to stay at decent price.

It is, I trust, one of the very few places in Kolkata where Dorms are still available. Sudder Street was known for its Non-AC dorm rooms- but most of them have been shut or the hotels do not provide Dorm Rooms now-only the normal rooms.
It is advisable to book in advance (Phone Booking) stating your arrival and departure date.
The Beds are very comfortable- Pillow and blanket provided- water cooler is available for drinking water. The Beds and Washroom(s) are kept neat and tidy.
A small locker (Lock to be brought by the occupants) available under the bed where we can store comfortably a normal 75 litre backpack.
Pushpak gets lot of International travellers- I was the lone Indian when I was there! Easy accessible from Esplanade Metro and Bus stations (walking-10 min).
Ideal for backpackers, or decent budget option for Business stay.

Room Tip: The Dorm Beds are Bunker Beds. Each Bed has a small table fan for extra comfort- though ideally it is not required as AC is effective unlike the AC Dorms at various Railway Stations in India.

This hotel is located at walking distance from the Park street metro station and is close to Esplanade metro station as well. It's on Md. Ishaque road (Or Kyd Street) or Mirza Ghalib street, and is a perfect location for many famous landmarks in this area..They have 26 A.C Dorms and A.C Rooms, I stayed for 2 days in the dorms when I was visiting the Durga Puja pandals in Kolkata, as I would just come back to hit the sack, and on the days I would spend more time in the room I took the A.C Double rooms. First, about the dorms: The common toilet and bathrooms are maintained very well and so are the dorm beds themselves, I had no issues whatsoever. It's perfect for a solo traveler, as they give you a locker where you can keep your luggage (you need to have your own keys for the locker), and its pretty safe. The only minor thing was that on all the days I stayed there, the front office receptionist insisted on the Hotel booking voucher printed out, he wouldn't go by the message on my phone or by showing him the email on my phone.. Not much of a dealbreaker as much of an irritant. There is a browsing center right opposite the hotel from where I took my print out by paying Rs.15 each time.. Also, there is a famous sweet shop called "Ganguram" right opposite the hotel, which has a great variety of awesome sweets which one must surely try and take for folks back home as a memoir from Kolkata... You must try the sondesh and the Mishti doi.. I didn't get time to try rosogollas here, but I am sure they will be equally fantastic.. Now, coming to the rooms.. After a long day in the streets of Kolkata (during the Durga Puja), the A.C rooms were a great place to come back to rest yourselves. I thought the pricing was pretty nominal and I even thought the food that the hotel served was pretty good (and not very costly).. I ate for 1-2 days completely in the hotel and don't have any regrets about the food. The rooms are clean, not too spacious but enough to manage and move around, and they have a LCD TV in the rooms which are perfectly wall mounted as well. In short, it was a great stay at this hotel during my 5 days in Kolkata. Within the rooms, its perfectly silent given that the area around is pretty silent too.. One great thing is that the bathroom is very spacious and clean:)...The best part is that all key landmarks are pretty close by, the New market in esplanade, the esplanade bus terminus, the Babu ghat inter-state bus terminus, Indian museum are a few to name,... Only thing is, the area is around 30Km from the airport, so plan your taxi accordingly...It cost me Rs.690 by AC Taxi to go to the airport.
