“Check out the painting of The Last Supper”
Reviewed 23 March 2012

This was a very interesting church to visit, particularly when you meet the guy there who plays the organ. He is very proud of the church and will tell you all about it's history. Ask him about the painting as it has a wonderful story behind it.

“Full of History”
Reviewed 18 March 2012

The design of the church was based on St Martin-in-the Fields Church in London. Warren Hastings, Govenor of Bengal was married here and there is also the mausoleum of Job Charnock.

“Worth the visit.”
Reviewed 19 February 2012

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting this church. You can feel the history of British Bombay here. There are some old graves plus the memorials to Job Charnock and the Black Hole of Calcutta. I had the privilege of meeting one of the church's organists and had a great time talking to him. I went at a time when the church was empty and it was wonderful to sit down in the peace and quiet for a while.

“Memorial to those who died in the notorious black hole of..”

Its a really nice church, being repaired in parts at the moment. It is still used as a church but the grounds were a bit litter strewn. Beautiful stained glass Italian windows and gold paintings around the altar. Worth a visit

“It is a working church. Go on a tour.”
Reviewed 31 January 2012

We went as part of a walking tour, that that made the difference to hear stories. One of the monuments on the grounds is the monument to the deaths of the 123 souls who perished in the "Black Hole" prison.
