The hotel in snaps looks great and seems to be a memorable one, however the ambience of the rooms are not up to the mark. In room we have space for bornfire which is not operational and it's too cold. Amenities are not placed as per the occupancy need to ask several times. Overall staff was good and helpful need to be managed property properly and last but not least after hurdles thanks to Aman for providing a electric matteress which was warm enough and my kid could have a pleasant sleep. Thanks to Restaurant ladies for all the special food served to my little one.
God bless you all

We stayed in the Summit Swiss Heritage Hotel between 24th and 27th January 2018. To start with, the hospitality was remarkable.

Saujanya, the host was extremely genial and proficient. She is very well informed and swift in arranging allied facilities, that made our visit a smooth experience.

The classic European architecture of red and white stands calm overlooking the Darjeeling hills. The cottage in which we were staying (Kabru) was impeccably cozy and comfortable. We went in peak winters with temperature ranging between 4 degrees and -1 degree Celsius. We never had a tough time given the facilities (electric bed warmers and room heater, geyser) spending time in the resort. My parents who are in their early sixties too had an appropriately comfortable stay.

Apart from this, the best part about staying in this heritage resort is you can witness the magnificence of the Kanchenjunga Range right from your window. You do not need to go to tiger hill which is a nearby popular morning destination to witness the spellbinding sunrise over the Kanchenjunga. The view available right in the comfort of your lawn. Photographers can use the metal staircase as the vantage point to capture the mountain range.

The Darjeeling station is a 5 min car ride from the resort and the resort authorities provide with very punctual and professional chauffeurs. The Darjeeling Mall is 700 meters away and is a 15 min walk. Cabs are readily available.

The restaurant in the resort is well equipped and staffs are very co-ordial. Food is decent. They efficiently arranged for an early breakfast on the day we were leaving at a freezing cold of 1 degree Celsius on the 27th of January.

Overall thanks to Saujanya and Aman, the host, the restaurant staffs, the chauffeurs and housekeeping staffs for such a cordial hospitality.

Room tip: Kanchenjunga Cottage is the largest. Kabru Cottage is the most attractive.

This hotel was not for me.Do we have any criteria for star rating of hotels in tripadvisor ? the photos, ratings are misleading. Room rates do not give you any indication of the hotel condition. This is a very old property, bath room is very small with not even space to keep the towels! Room are smelly which was accepted by hotel and was attributed to wooded constructions. This is an old property and only positive is its location and responsive management. the Summit Group management after some prodding from hotel team on my strong demand agreed to shift to their other hotel in Darjeeling and my sincere thanks to them for this.Overall an ill maintained heritage hotel.

The hotel is very old and not maintained properly. Not expected from Summit group. The rooms have equipment’s which are all “ heritage”. The geyser takes hours to warm water . This is a killer during winter. Was given a cottage like room “ Sinolchu”. The interior shows heritage style with non functional fire place but dark and windows without any view. There was a room heater with blower which was initially good but conked off after one night run. They replaced the same with heating rod which didn’t warm the room even after 12 hours. The hotel does not have spare room heater for guests. This is awe full during. The view from the hotel lawn is good though half the are is covered by new construction. The Mall Road is walkable , around 10-12 min walk. Caveat : don’t buy water cost Rs 70 a bottle !!! . Overall a very bad experience
