Shiraz Art Cafe tries very hard to hide from public view and it very nearly succeeds. Located at the very end of a beach road, this place is difficult to find on the ECR Road. The place is run by a Persian, brother-sister duo who are a delight to talk with. The place serves very good food and the Sunday buffets are really value for money. My personal favorites are Plum Chicken, Ghormeh Sabzi, Ghalieh Mahi, Persian Mutton Biriyani and last but not the least Orange flavored Rice(can't recollect its name)

They also have fresh olives as well 'the' most tasty honey dipped dates on the menu.

On arrival you are given a wonderful welcome drink and your dinner ends with a shot glass of tea. It is like the people at Shiraz have decided to drown you in wonderful Persian Hospitality. This is one place I love to go and I can never get tired off the food.

Set in a beuatiful location right next to the beach the art cafe offers a great ambiance and good food. It is run by very warm and friendly Iranian brother sister duo who actually suggest trying out certain dishes. Sunday brunch is a value for money.

Probably the best restaurant in chennai to go for a date. We went here for lunch to celebrate my wife's birthday. We sat outside initially and the ambience was too good. We could feel the gentle sea breeze often. Later it rained and then we sat inside. The interiors are quite good too. We had buffet. Most of the dishes were quite tasty. Especially the chicken biriyani, beef kebab, orange peel rice, chicken 65 and couple of chocolate based desserts were delicious. They served musk melon juice which was also good. The service is good and price was also not very expensive compared to what they offer. Overall a great place and we would surely go here again in future.

Location is a bit difficult to reach having to navigate through narrow roads. But beach side location ensures a good breeze and relaxing time..food is amazing tho limited in options.

My intention was to dine in, in a beach side restaurant, after browsing extensively about user reviews in zamoto.com and status update in Where Chennai Eats group of Facebook, me and my wife decided to go for Shiraz Art cafe. We had in mind MGM sea crest and Beach club also,we did not visit any of these three restaurants previously. We rejected MGM sea crest because of reviews of overpriced and average food, and Shriaz rating is higher than that of Beach club

To find the place, if you are driving from Thiruvanmiyur towards VGP, on your left, have in your mind landmark hotchips restaurant, from there take second left and again last right and left, you will be on beach itself and Shiraz also located on the beach, last few meters you will drive in kuppam hut area.

Highlight of the ambience was cool sea-breeze, blowing you when you are in lawn area of the restaurant, A/C hall is also there. We sat in the lawn enjoying the sea-breeze capturing snap and went into A/c hall

The owner-cum-bearer took our order, as he suggested, we ordered iranian dish mast-o-Bademjaan prepared of eggplant and served with sauce, chilly chicken and vegetarian dum biriyani.

Though we were only inside the retaurant, they took 40 minutes to serve the food, since we had plenty of lesisure time, delayed service was not an issue. Only two persons were managing cooking and serving, so was the delay. Later a team of executives visited there

mast-o-Bademjaan was little bit hard to bite,it tasted like hard parota, I did not like this, as my tongue was habituaed eating spicy, masala dishes. As I am a vegetarian my wife took, chilli chicken, she liked it very much as it was made of proper blend of spice and salt

Then we took, Veg biriyani which was prepared in basmati rice, with beans, carrot potato served with cucumber salad, this was awesome, as I had requested to prepare spicy, and it was, with proper quantity. Only issue was potato skin was not removed, they had fried the potato with skin

I took strawberry plain ice cream, and my wife took vanilla plain, which were awesome in quality and quantity, melting soft in my mouth. Price rs.1010,overall, to my surprise, they did not add tax to the price mentioned in menu

Overall rating Ambience 4/5, food 4/5, service 4/5 price 4/5
