We had gone to chennai for our immigration interview and we easily booked the spring hotel easily we booked the presidential suite for a competitive price! and they provided us pickup and drop to airport as in the package and they gave us complimentary drop to the us consulate also. This is a very ultra jazzy hotel not every body will like!!! can stay there for no longer than 24 hrs... then u will feel out of this world. the restraunt ambience is ok but hopeless staff as the food is horrible( we should never say this to the food but now it is for the management to take a noteand improve the quality and taste)
we took indigo air for the trip it is a good flight and very very punctual the staff is also good the best part is they have the best planes

Purpose of my trip was for a US VISA interview, so the hotel location was ideal. They have a VISA package that includes a drop to the consulate- highly appreciated given the Chennai sun.

As for the hotel itself- decor is Garish to say the least. The room felt cold and clinical despite the over-the-top blue headboard and sequined cushions! Although very well equipped- couch, chair, study table, minibar (our fridge didnt work), electric kettle, hair dryer etc.- space is hugely lacking. Room is extremely cramped, and so is the bathroom. Shower area has only a tiny slot for placing soap. Where does one keep the shampoo?

Plus points: Fabulous sleep quality! The bed, pillows and duvet were amazingly comfy. Spotlessly clean. And hey, it Rajnikanth's hotel ;o)

Food was average. Service was good.

Would recommend for solo travel as space may not be such a constraint, as its comfortable and centrally located. Especially for consulate visits.

Room Tip: If on a US consulate visit, ask for the 'VISA package'.

I stayed at the Spring Hotel because my company booked me into it. It might not have been my first choice, but having said that, I didn't really have anything to complain about. A decent location, acceptable rooms, ok food. They provide parking for the guest's car.

The rooms were a bit smaller than what I have gotten used to. There is so much bling all over, it did unnerve me initially. The complimentary breakfast was just borderline acceptable. There is nothing exceptional about the hotel, hence rated in average. But yeah, I would still recommend it to someone who is determined to stay in that area. There could be better hotels, but for the tariff, this was ok.

The attraction is that the property belongs to the one and only Rajinikanth. The decor of the rooms, restaurant and coffee shop is typical South Indian film style. It is dark with spotlights. One wall contains a series of paintings of the great man. However the rest of the decor is very gaudy and irritating. In spite of being an old Hotel the rooms are cramped and once again decorated like a South Indian film set. Though the service is poor, the staff is polite and soft-spoken.The food is good.on the whole the experience is pretty average. The only advantage is that you can boast with your friends that you stayed in a hotel which belongs to Rajnikanth. You don't have to tell the that he doesn't run the place.

Room Tip: Try the buffet it is good value for money
