“Inner city location, but poor rooms...”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 March 2012 via mobile

we stayed for 1 night because this hotel is recommended in some travel guides.we were disappointed because the room seemed to be untouched for some years. Dirty toilets, full rubbish bin and not very clean at all . It is in a busy and loud location. If you don't mind noise and dirt you can propably have a good time because of the location. And 500 rs for such a room is just overpriced. We don't understand why it is in all of the travel guides. Maybe it used to be a good alternative... ages ago.
You'll be better of staying in one of the "outer" hotels which are way better for the same price, or even less.

We stayed here for one night, its such a wonderful location and the Staff are friendly, however it really needs to improve on cleanliness. We arrived after a long nights train journey and just wanted to shower and freshen up. They kept turning off the electricity. When we asked them to turn it back on they told us that the whole town was out, when I told him that the guy next door to our room was working away on his computer in his office, he told us that it was battery operated!!!!!.To be fair he turned the electricity back on so my friend could finish showering. However 20 minutes later he did the same thing and my Friend had to go through the same conversation with him and again he did turn it back on.

It's a shame. This hotel could be great but it is seriously marred by poor maintenance/cleaning standards.
The location is amazing (I could see the pink palace from my room!), the guy managing the place is kind and helpful and gave us good money saving tips, (like how to get to the Monkey Temple for just 12 rupees by taking a 5 minute bus ride rather than paying hundreds for a rickshaw!)
but...
the floor of our room was quite dirty and the bathroom was really disgusting. I had to clean the toilet seat and it was obvious this hadn't been done in awhile - it was really dirty, as was the bathroom in general. And little cockroaches were all over the room. I don't know if this was also because of poor cleanliness or because of the kitchen located in the same building.
It's sad because there are some fantastic rooms facing the street which are large, with high ceilings and an amazing view of the street below (great for people watching if you just don't feel like being part of it) but it is just being allowed to collect grunge and grime.
I wish they would make more of an effort.
But if you are looking for a really central location on a budget and don't mind street noise and grunge, this is a good choice.
They have 24 hour check-out and some of the rooms are tiny and dismal, while others are large with a view.
There is also another budget hotel (about 700 rupees a room) in the old city not too far away called Boby Mansion but it's on a side street so it doesn't have a view of the busy street, but is quieter and cleaner and more modern.

I chose this hotel because I didn't have much time to visit Jaipur and it was really close to City Palace and Hawa Mahal. The hotel is just in front of Jama Masjid and you have bazaars all around! It's really cheap, my room was simple and clean enough. The staff was very kind and friendky, they came to my room at 5.30 in the morning to wake me up without even asking!
