The hotel is quite expensive but rooms are very comfortable, but you can't open the windows because all around is noisy and in the middle of traffic jam.
Wifi not efficiently working.
Staff is very helpful and efficient!
Breakfast buffet is wonderful with pancakes, omelette and crepes on minute.
The hotel also has a very good patisserie.

Dear MI_cla_12,

Thank you for the time that you have taken in providing a feedback of your stay with us.

We are happy to note that you felt comfortable with our rooms. We have also made note of your observation about WiFi and immediately worked upon it to the satisfactory level of it's efficiency.

We look forward to your continued patronage and support. Our rooms are reasonably soundproof. However, we do keep the windows of the rooms shut typically from the security point of view. With regard to prices, they are clearly defined and are as per recommendations by industry experts and does fluctuate as per availability.

We apologise for any inconvenience that may have been caused during your stay.

Thank you,
Best regards,

just stayed at shalimar for 2 nights, with a friend in double bedded accommodations. this is a very nice little boutique hotel with a modern flair. the location seems quite safe, we walked to, shopping, temples, restaurants to and from there at all times. the staff speaks English very well and is very service oriented. The breakfast in the morning lacks a good coffee, but has a nice little buffet offering with a mix of International and Indien dishes. Dosas and egg dishes are made to order. I would return to Shalimar anytime and will recommend to anyone asking for moderate priced accommodations in Mumbai anytime. WiFi is a bit spotty.

Room Tip: ask for newly renovated rooms

The suites are beautifully designed and very functional.

The staff is very cordial and unobtrusive. We also had a board meeting at the banquet hall which was handled to perfection.

Overall a great experience

Acceptable hotel for Mumbai. The location is good - pretty quiet if you avoid a room at the front of the building, which is on a fairly busy road. Malabar hill behind the hotel is an oasis of green, and we found December temperatures to be slightly cooler here than in the rest of the city.

Breakfast is fine, with a range of Indian and European items. Staff will also make dishes to order, which is a nice touch.

The cost of the airport pickup service at Rs2000 is too much. The registered taxi service at the airport is much better value at Rs700, and of course, the reception staff will also arrange a taxi from the street outside to take you back to the airport.

The carpet in our room was somewhat tired, and was not vacuumed for five days! Bed linen and towels were spotless. Wifi is fast and seems to work well in all areas.

All the hotel staff were unfailingly helpful and pleasant, although the restaurant manager seems to have real difficulty in keeping track of orders! The bakery on the ground floor, and the shisha bar on the roof are both great.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the building to avoid traffic noise. Rooms at the front are larger.

Dear TevredenLeiden,

Thank you for taking the time out to put up a review of The Shalimar Hotel on Trip Advisor. We are pleased to know that you had a comfortable stay with us and enjoyed our food and food choice in the restaurant. It has been our constant endeavour as a team to provide the best of The Shalimar Hotel to all our guests. We would like to bring your kind attention that we do charge INR 1900/- for the pick up / drop to the international airport which is more than that of a taxi as our cars are luxury cars with trained drivers. Also, the car has to come one way without any pick up / drop as the car is booked entirely by the guest.

While we thank you once again for appreciating our hotel as a whole and recommending to others, we look forward to have your continued support and patronage in future to come. Please feel free to contact me for any future requirements.

Thank you,
Best Regards,

Nice hotel with excellent location and reasonable rates. Service is ok.
We rented three rooms over two separate stays in the month of December 2017. Obviously very busy time for hotel. Rooms were ok. My daughter said her room on the seventh floor was recently renovated and thus was much superior to rooms on 3rd, 4th, and 5th floors. Anyway our extended family had a good stay.
Front desk service, payments etc were challenging. Breakfast was well attended to and was fine except fruit selection was limited e. g., couldn’t get bananas even after multiple requests. Gym is tiny with rudimentary equipment.
The best thing about the hotel is the location for shopping or eating. And close to south Mumbai. Also Hanging Gardens is just one km walk (up the hill). We walked to and at the HG every morning. Beautiful.
