This temple is worth a visit. The carving is exquisite. A good view from the top. The area does have a lot of vendors around

Children are wowed by the fact that Indian heritage structures like these have been created and the feeling within the temple complex is indeed a bliss by itself.

One of the divine places to visit when in Mysuru. This very old temple is located on the Chamundi Hills which is at 30-40 mins distance from city center. This holy place is a Mahaskatkipeeth. Best time to visit is daytime. There is an option for simple darshan and special darshan, the difference being only in the time taken for darshan and not the distance from which darshan can be done. Do check for the temple timings and holidays before visiting as it gets really crowded.

If you go by the mythological tales then this is the place where mother Durga (Chamundeshwari is another name of the Goddess Durga) killed the demon Mahishasur after fierce battle of 9 days. You must come here to get a glimpse of the mother of the universe who is loved and worshipped by millions.

Interestingly Mysore gets its name after the demon Mahishasur.

Small temple with a lot of religious significance for the locals. May have a long queue sometimes when it can get chaotic. The drive up and down hill offers good views of the city. The huge Nandi bull statue is worth seeing
