Definitely a great place to stay. It might be not that close to the centre, but if you want to have a great host and sleep well. It would be the place!
Millions thanks for the hospitable host, Abhi, for giving so much information and help to us. When we need help, he is always there.
The room was really clean, so did the bathroom.
Since it is located in a residential area, the first time it might be a little bit hard to find. But once you find it, the following days when you come back, you will feel like going back home.
The property is located closer to apollo hospital jasola. Any one in the city knows where apolo hospital jasola is, from there the hotel is in close proximity. The place for the price is really worth it comfortable and clean rooms peace of mind. And most importantly as an added bonus you have a great host Abhi who is very knowledgeable of the city and readily available to help out in planing out your trip in Delhi. Myself and wife really loved the stay out there.Thank you Abhi for all the assistance.
The Meditation Palace is all about the host!
We felt like we were welcomed guests in Abhi's home. At the very beginning, he sat down with us and discussed some of the best things to do in New Delhi. He was extremely helpful in arranging transportation, suggesting itineraries, and simply bending over backwards to meet our every need. Perhaps best of all, he took the time to talk with us about our experiences and to teach us about Indian religion, culture, and life. It felt like we were staying at a friend's house. It is obvious that Abhi is in this business because he loves to build friendships with people from all over the world.
It is hard to share any complaints about staying a friend's house but I want to help set proper expectations. The location is not particularly convenient to any of the main sites. However, we enjoyed being in a residential area. It was very easy and inexpensive to use Uber for transportation ($2 - $5 to most anyplace we wanted to go). We also used the subway system, as there is a station fairly close to the Meditation Palace. There is a "mall" nearby that has a few basic restaurants. There is a park across the street where locals were playing pickup games of cricket.
The beds were on the hard side and the hot water was not as plentiful as we would have liked. The rooms were a bit cold but we were there on unusually cool nights. There are a thousand light switches in each room and only a couple actually turn on lights -- we turned it into a game! The common area was a nice place to hang out. Breakfast was great, though it was not included in the price. Interesting view of Delhi from the top of the building.
To start off, my wife and I only booked for one night and ended up staying for our whole trip in India. The room was clean and tidy, the staff was kind and the host went over his way to make our stay a most memorable one. He helped us find our way to all the interest points in the city and arranged our tours. We met other guest from other countries and all bonded as we spent time together. We got the best out of India and felt like we were family. It was a wonderful experience and I completely recommend it.
I've been traveling many years, and Abhi was the best host I've ever had anywhere. When we arrived, he gave us detailed maps with lots of info, thoughts for planning our time, and answered questions. He patiently helped us through India's currency crisis, was kind and available, and yesterday (days after our stay),kept us from getting swindled out of 42,000 rupies by someone we were told worked for the government. When our PayPal account payed him twice, after we had left the city, he helped us to pay another hostel we were staying at. His hostel is beautiful and out of the way from the noise of central Delhi, the rooms are lovely, and we were very comfortable and happy. His help set us up for our whole time in India. Very very grateful, and highly recommended ! Thanks, Abhi!
