An authentic place to try new flavours. The malabar breads and dry-mutton fries of this place are simply lip-smacking plus its located in Hauz-Khas! What a Delhi exploring person can ask more for!

Had dinner at this lovely South Indian restaurant that is located in Delhi’s hip Kauz Khas neighborhood. The food was beyond description, just divine. I tried their fish stew Malabari style, as well as beans and peas sautéed in coconut. Both were amazing as was their egg-white appam. The service was prompt and the ambience pleasant. I would say this restaurant easily counts among the top Indian restaurants at which I’ve had the chance to!

This was our 2nd visit to India and Hauz Khas Village. The café we had visited last time wasn't open, and Coast Café was just next door, above a fashion shop. We made our way upstairs unsure of what we would find. It was quite busy so we had to wait 10 minutes - the outside balcony was a nice place to peruse the menu and a table was soon available.
The staff were lovely - confident and clearly took pride in their business and their food, and what a revelation the food was! Often a menu gives no idea of what is in store, and it is not until it arrives that you realise this is something exceptional - this was the case here. Sadly I can't remember the names of what we ate, but the breads (parathas?) were utterly memorable as the best by far we had in 3 weeks in India, as was the rest of the meal. Our friends are real 'foodies' and desperate not to waste any meal time on bland safe cuisine - they were very impressed and we talked about the food here for the rest of our travels in India.

This cafe has a chilled out lunch ambience and the most delicious food. Appam (bowl shaped bread), buttered chicken and vegetarian curry were fantastic. INR 1000 per person - great value. Highly recommended.
