I stayed just for a night at a conference. My room was furnished with the cutest Nappa Dori armoire and the most indigo bathrobe I've ever seen. While the place seems OTT to an Indian traveller, the quirkiness of the place soon takes away the cynicism.

The food was outstanding! This includes both the ones served at the banquet as well the morning breakfast. The latter was a sure experience, one that I will repeat very soon.

The best thing about the place was the forced casual environment that was such a pleasurable change from the usual 5star environment.

Room Tip: Has an option to overlook the airport-- is fun to watch the open skies & planes take off and land!

We stayed at the Andaz in March of 2018 on our trip to India. The Andaz is located in an area called Aerocity, a conclave of hotels and office buildings, located near Indira Gandhi International Airport. The Andaz is a stylish new hotel, with great service, large rooms and really good food (especially the breakfast buffet). The hotel is convenient to the Airport, but the local metro line can get you to Connaught Place in just a few stops.

We were a party of 7 people - so we took a 3 bedroom apartment in the Andaz Residences (part of the Andaz Hotel). The apartment was about 1,800 square feet, complete with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a dining room (table for 8), a living room (large L-shaped sectional) and a small kitchen. The kitchen included a washer / dryer, convection stove top and a couple of ovens. The refrigerator serves a mini-bar and non-alcoholic drinks were complimentary. The room decor was modern and very stylish - gray woods, marble, etc. - reflective of the overall design ethos of the hotel.

Our rate included the breakfast buffet, which was "Off the Hook" according to my 12 year old nephew. The buffet has a North Indian, South Indian, Continental, Pastry, Fruit and Cereal sections. Moreover, they hare happy to prepare custom items like North Indian breads (e.g., Parathas), South Indian specialties (e.g., Dosas) and Continental (e.g., omelettes, pancakes, crepes). The food quality was consistently good (fresh, lots of flavor); however, they take a gourmet view of their food. For example, they had a baked yogurt (a lot like a low fat Creme Brulee), put anise into their fruit salad, grilled / carmelized grapefruit, had saffron on their donuts and had fresh juices daily served in stylish bottles. Moreover, they grow their own herbs in a hydroponic area in the restaurant. The tables have a big piece of Himalayan pink salt with a grater to add some zest to the dishes. This is one of the best breakfast buffets I have had in India.

Staff service was polite and professional. They were quick to respond to requests and were always on hand to provide a helping hand. For example, we had a 5 AM flight, so we asked Abishek, our waiter, if we could get a packed breakfast in the morning. He said no problem and indeed we had a boxed breakfast containing a muffin, banana, apple and juice ready for us at checkout at 3:30 AM.

The hotel is convenient to the airport - perhaps a 10 minute taxi ride to Terminal 3 (international terminal). The Metro also stops in Aerocity, so one stop to the airport and just a few stops to Connaught Place (center of Delhi). Getting to other locations in Delhi (e.g., South Extension) requires a taxi cab / Uber.

Aerocity is an enclosed community, so it is neat and clean. It is primarily hotels; however, there is a nice department store, some restaurants and a food court available so one doesn't need to venture out all of the time.

I stayed at the Delhi Andaz for one night as I had an early flight to catch the next day and was coming from Mumbai. The hotel is located among several other properties near the Delhi International airport called Aerocity. I have stayed at a lot of Hyatt properties, including the one a bit down the road from the Aiport. The Hyatt in Chennai is one the best hotels in India (see my review). The Andaz is a beautiful property. The service from the airport transfer is very good and upon check in the process of comfortable. The rooms are spacious, and clean. The room I stayed in had a view of the nearby airport runway although it was hard to make out in the haze that permeates Delhi’s sky. I would only say that the rooms are bit overly technical. There are way too many buttons and it takes a lot of time to figure out. A nice touch is the minibar which is stocked with complimentary non-alcoholic beverage and a Nespresso machine. One note of caution, the hotel is large and you can end up being quite a ways from the elevator. In my case we requested a room near the elevator and it was still far. I’d also like to give a shout out to the concierge. Sumit was extremely helpful with an issue and went through great lengths to assist me. On these elements, room, and service, I would rate this hotel very high. What makes it hard to do so are the two restaurants. The main dining is an interesting mix of Indian and continental. The other option is a high end Cantonese. In addition to being extremely cold (not unusual for the AC in India), the menus were not inviting. It made dinner a room service affair which was fine, but it would have preferred a more casual approach in the main hotel restaurant, with some familiar stables rather than duck confit or Millet biryani. Although I can see how it’s very appealing to the local crowd for which the restaurant has to cater as well. With the food options, the Delhi Andaz is certainly not a hotel that I would skip, but hope will improve as the service and rooms make it worth a visit. One final note, the hotel charges for the airport transfer (10 mins) if it’s not part of your room rate. This is something to keep in mind.
