The Bunta (or Banta) is a classic "desi" preparation of lemon soda that almost everyone has had at some point in their life. The marble-stopper bottle that a bunta is stored in is iconic!

With the advent of time and the increase in the popularity of the beverage, several flavours of bunta were introduced - orange, cola, etc.

The culmination of this, as I see it, is BUNTA BAR.

1. Location
Janpath (Google is your friend).

2. Seating and Ambiance
The property is very spacious and has nicely spread out seating. The interiors are neo-desi with lots of eye-catching wall decor.

The most prominent, however, is the use of empty bunta bottles in arches and chandeliers.

3. Service
The staff is courteous and helpful with prompt service.

4. Food
My friend and I were famished and had a lot of time to kill. Consequently, we ordered one dish at a time (and ended up ordering quite a few ).

i) Beverages
SANTRA WHISKY BUNTA was served in a classic bunta bottle and had some masala in it. Refreshing and flavourful!

CHOCO NUTTY was one of the better shakes I've had in a while.

DELHI 6 and NIGHTLIFE OF MUMBAI were cocktails served in "desi" bottles with their own colourful stickers. Both had a good concentration of alcohol and unique flavours.

ii) Food

CHICKEN CHILLI LOLLYPOPS were nice - crispy outside, soft inside with a flavourful sauce.

MASALA BUNTA FRIES WITH CHEESE, PEPPERONI, RED ONION AND JALAPEÑO - I loved these loaded fries. They are excellent finger food and are pretty heavy, too!

FALAFEL, served with pita bread and hummus, was pretty good. The hummus, especially, was terrific!

CHILLI PRAWNS - nothing extraordinary, but nothing wrong either.

BBQ CHICKEN, MOZZARELLA AND SMOKED CHEESE DESI FLAT BREAD - an indianised thin crust pizza that was loaded with cheese.

Conclusion
Bunta Bar might be a little way off from the hustle and bustle of CP's inner circle but it is definitely worth the extra effort. A complete package of comfort, good food and good drinks with a moderate price tag - this place is a winner!

Bunta Bar is the F&B hotspot in the city that brings back the love for Buntas or the bottles with marbles that have tangy concoctions within.

I visited Bunta Bar on a Monday evening. The ambiance is moderately lit and the restaurant used to have a beautiful rooftoop which is now restricted operation.

Kudos to the brains behind the decor that have incorporated Bunta Bottles in small elements that stand out, like an entire arch made of those.

Apart from a wide variety of alco and non-alco Buntas, their food is delicious as well.

Listing my favorites from their Menu...

Mango Bite Bunta is that tangy toffee from Parle emulated in the form of a Bunta.

Strawberry Cheesecake Shake was a thick shake that had a fruity flavor to it as well.

Corn and Feta Samosets are simply fab with the thin, crunchy crust outside and ample filling inside.

Quinoa Bhel Puri is a well finished Salad, complete with Papdi, Pomegranate, and Sev, served with a dash of lime.

Mushroom Shami is melt-in-mouth, served atop a mini triangular Parantha.

Brownie with Ice Cream was the Dessert of the Day.

Lovely vibe, great music and delicious food!

Bunta Bar in Janpath is located right opposite to the market area and beside Fresco. They had a lovely terrace but due to the current regulations of the DMC, we can't sit there and enjoy the view anymore. I visited the place with 4 other friends over a lunch today, and the experience was amazing.

Initially the place wasn't so much crowded, but by 2 PM it was swamped with people and with a wonderful 2-member live band singing in the house, the mood was ecstatic. We had some great music and the service too was good, so we loved the hospitality for sure.

DRINKS

We decided to try out all the Mocktail Buntas here, and it was creepy fun. We tried the KPT, Bunta Fanta, Mango Bite, Aam Panna, Blueberry Kala Khatta, Bunta Soda and the Blue Agave Bunta. My personal favorites of these: KPT and AAM PANNA

SNACKS

Chakhna Platter

Corn and Feta Samosets
Lovely small samosas with their ends twisted, served with some imli and mint chutney on a plate

Chicken Cafreal
Green mint spicy chicken patty with some onion and chutney in small buns

Crispy Paneer 65 sliders

Veggie Lovers Pizza
Delicious and colourful Vegetarian Pizza with lots of toppings like red, yellow and green sundried tomatoes, jalapeños and cheese

Mutton Keema Cheese Pizza
Minced keema mutton served on a Pizza base with lots of cheese used for the topping

Aglio Olio Veg Pasta
Authentic Italian pasta with a good use of Olive oil and a hint of garlic and dried red chilli flakes, this one also had some of the veggies in it

MAIN COURSE

Bunta Dal Makhani
Delicious rich and creamy textured Dal Makhani with a beautiful pattern being made by the butter they used. The Dal Makhani is a perfect dish to have with the Garlic and Butter Naans

Karahi Paneer
Slightly supposed to be spicy but not upto the mark. The onions cooked in the gravy of tomato and the dish tasted great otherwise.

Bunta Butter Chicken
The Butter chicken here was good but the gravy was the hero of this dish and not the chicken, which was slightly undercooked and rubbery.

DESSERTS

Brownie with Ice cream
The Brownie was hot and crispy and delicious and the Ice cream only added to the dish, making the contrasts just perfect.

Overall, this place is amazing and one can surely rely on coming here to spend a happy and cheerful weekend.

Known for the desi Bunta's that we all remember from our childhood, this place is full of Bunta's. Infact any mocktail/cocktail you might order would probably be served in a Bunta itself. The service is average but the food and drinks are great, especially if you are a Bunta lover. Ambiance is good too.

I started off with some Hari Mirch Chicken Taco. They weren't as spicy as they sound, and were really delicious. Loved them! Recommended.

Simply said, Spinach & Onion Bhaji with imli chutney is actually pakora with chutney. Goes great with the drinks.

Jalapeno Cheese Peppers were ultra cheesy and Chicken Nuggets were great too! Both these dishes are star of their starters!

They serve something called as "PIJJA" which is nothing but their variant of Pizza. Nice varieties available. BBQ Chicken Pizza had good BBQ Sauce marinated chicken. Loved it.

In drinks, I tried Aam Panna & Blueberry Kala Khatta. Aam Panna lacked the traditional aam panna flavor, but the blueberry kala khatta made up for it completely! Loved the drink, and its looks too! :P

In Main Course I tried, Bunta Butter Chicken and Kadhai Paneer. Butter Chicken was a bit too sweet, but tasted great. Kadhai Paneer was good too. They offer decent variety of breads as well. However, I simply loved their Berry Pulao! It is a dish I would highly recommend to all.

Overall, Bunta Bar is a great place to dine with friends and party on some nice and loud music. :)

Yet another Lounge in the heart of the city, this place is FULL OF BUNTA! Whether in the name, or in the chandelier or in the wall decor. Right on the main Janpath road, this bar is known to serve different drinks in their own Buntas. The music is good too.

Coming to the food, I tried Veg. Spaghetti Pasta in Cheese Sauce. It was slimy and well cooked. The cheese made it even delicious. Vegetables used were fresh. Recommended.

Spinach and Onion Bhaji Pakora, were good too. I liked them specially because of the Imly chutney with which they were served.

Baingan Bharta Taco is something everyone was afraid to eat. But loved it in the end. Its a great fusion food, and surely one must try it.

Kerala Chicken Nuggets were some deep friend chicken nuggets served with mayo. I liked their crispy texture.

Meanwhile I also had Bunta Soda. Which was a simple Bunta that we all have tried. But it had some extra masala and soda. But I liked Bunta Fanta even more. It was , again, a fusion drink having a combination of both traditional Bunta, with Fanta drink. Loved it a lot! Infact I had 2 of it in the end.

Now coming to the main course, I tried Bunta Dal Makhani with Bunta Butter Chicken. The Dal was thick and it seemed a lot of effort was put into it as it had a nice consistency. Bunta Butter Chicken was great too. It had ample pieces of chicken in it.

They have a good variety of breads, or you can even order a Berry Pulao. It's a decision you surely won't regret. :D

Brownie is a good dessert too.

I liked their sofa's. They were quite comfortable, and probably that's the reason I managed to spend such a nice time there. Recommended.
