And you’ll have to stay… The highly religious laser light show at the end takes place in full darkness. Even if you wanted to leave, it wouldn’t be safe to move around. There is nothing in their printed brochures indicating the extreme proselytizing that they will try during the laser light show before anyone can leave the cave. Even though we are Christians, my 11-year-old daughter asked us why a cave tour ended up with a message that would likely make anyone but the most fervent Christian uncomfortable.

Sure, their cave, their rules, but people should know what they are getting into, and have the option to avoid it.

Loved the outdoor family atmosphere. Lyris was so helpful, polite and funny. She went out of her way to help me and my family feel like part of the Desoto Caverns family. Amia was so kind. She ran the gemstone panning which was what I was most looking forward to. We had the Unlimited Attraction wristband so Amia saw me a few times. Thank you all for helping to make this weekend getaway so much fun! They also made recommendations of other fun things to do, what a great crew. We will definitely be back!

We stayed at the camp site, eventually this will be a nice getaway. Still have a long way to go, No onsite Host, water issues, no communication with camp guest. Staff is young (very nice) but, not experienced or trained well enough to handle issues..etc..busted waterlines, low or no water pressure. 16 lots on about a one acre area. Camp map is a little deceiving.
The Caverns are amazing, great day trip for young kids, Cavern is the only activity for Teens or adults.
We will return for a "Day" trip only.

We went there with our son and his family that includes 3 young children. Therexwere plenty of activities for them but limited activities for adults. The most fun we had was a water baloon fight which allowed adult participation. Price was reasonable. The adult portion of the visit was a tour of Desoto Cavern. The tour guide was great and we learned some interesting facts. The highlight of the tour was the total blackout at the beginning, just to show how really dark the cavern is, and the lader show in the cavern to end our tour. The staff was great and really interacted well with the kids. If you have an afternoon and are in the Birmingham area with young kids (10 and under) it is worth the visit.

Family took a day trip from Selma, Al to see the Desoto Caverns. The cavern tour and laser light show was worth the entire trip! Cavern was beautiful. The staff super friendly. Our guide made learning the history of the cavern fun. Many of the side attractions are targeting young children and not teens and adults, except the maze. Highly recommend a visit. Be ready to walk alot!! Family had fun.
