Owner description: Desoto Caverns Family Fun Park , one of Alabama's magnificent natural wonders, rests in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Desoto Caverns was the first officially recorded cave of record in 1796, with a main room 12 stories high and 100 yards long. Today Desoto Caverns Family Fun Park is a popular attraction with rides, exhibits and outdoor activities the whole family can enjoy.

We went there with our son and his family that includes 3 young children. Therexwere plenty of activities for them but limited activities for adults. The most fun we had was a water baloon fight which allowed adult participation. Price was reasonable. The adult portion of the visit was a tour of Desoto Cavern. The tour guide was great and we learned some interesting facts. The highlight of the tour was the total blackout at the beginning, just to show how really dark the cavern is, and the lader show in the cavern to end our tour. The staff was great and really interacted well with the kids. If you have an afternoon and are in the Birmingham area with young kids (10 and under) it is worth the visit.

Family took a day trip from Selma, Al to see the Desoto Caverns. The cavern tour and laser light show was worth the entire trip! Cavern was beautiful. The staff super friendly. Our guide made learning the history of the cavern fun. Many of the side attractions are targeting young children and not teens and adults, except the maze. Highly recommend a visit. Be ready to walk alot!! Family had fun.

The staff members are great and the park is very clean and well-kept. My two sons and I spent the day. The boys had unlimited passes and tried almost every activity. The staff at each activity were patient and so friendly. My kids have decided they are rich after finding so many jewels and crystals! haha. Their favorite attraction at the park was the new park train and the archery. We enjoyed the cave tour very much and the light show was a fantastic surprise! Thank you DeSoto Caverns for a great time.

Brought my family up for a day trip. the cavern was neat but the prices were outrageous. our tour guide was good but for what it cost to take the tour you would think you would get to see more of the cavern. the tour guide told is about a deep well on back in the cave but the stairs were blocked off where nobody could go see it. just felt like we were rushed through and they smiled as they took our money.

Thank you for your comments. We are glad you enjoyed your tour guide as we are actively involved with our team members and how to best serve our guest. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our guest experience because our core values are excellence, teamwork and care. Our leadership team has reviewed your comments and values your input from your experience. Our Team Members will be made aware of your concerns. The entirety of the Caverns is open except for a small claustrophobic passageway that limited us from being one of the first caves accessible to all, including those with special needs. We are actively looking for ways to improve and we hope that if you choose to visit us in the future you see improvements that have been made.
