Bocas continues to be a fun destination, my first visit was 2002. We checked out several hotels, Hotel Bocas del Toro was easily our first, second and third choice. The owner ,Carla, is on site and it makes a difference. Our room and reception areas are all well maintained and the staff friendly. Got two good nights´ sleep even on a weekend.
Great location, on the water and short stroll to all the places you want to go in the town.
Yes, I will go back again.

Room Tip: The big room pictured has a balcony overlooking the water and islands. Sat there for hours. Always something to see.

we arrived hot and tired from panama city and were checked in with great efficiency and charm to the beautiful top room with balcony overlooking the water. within almost no time at all we were seated downstairs out on the water with cocktails and ceviche and with a ring-side view of all the activity on the water. truly delightful!
we found all of the staff to be really friendly and helpful, arranging taxis and excursions, and even even organising the rebooking (for no extra charge) when i had to postpone one trip because of illness.
there are a few other great places to eat in bocas but the food here really stands up to comparison - and the location is unbeatable.
top tip - leave enough time for breakfast as everything is made fresh.

Cute little hotel in great location - room was clean and just what we needed, however not as "luxurious" as the advertised rooms.
Breakfast included and delicious.
Service could be a little more friendly in the restaurant.

I couldn´t have a better experience at Bocas Del Toro. Bocas Del Toro hotel was the perfect spot to enjoy around the town, beautiful beaches, amazing restaurants and a pretty nature.

The hotel is beautiful from inside and outside, very attentive staff and on top of any assistance for me, room was spectacular with an ocean view. My birthday was on Sunday and they had prepared a wonderful cake for me as a surprise (this literally made me cry).

I want to thank to all the staff, specially Rudy who was on top of everything, my tours and restaurant reservation and to the ladies at frontdesk and the restaurant. I loved them.

If you go to Bocas, do not hesitate to choose Hotel Bocas del Toro.

After reading some of the reviews I thought this would be a good choice for us, it turned out not to be. The biggest issue was the town was on water rationing because of it being so dry...so you could not flush toilets, take showers or use water in general during a significant part of the day. This was not the fault of the hotel, except they did not have large enough storage tanks; so the restrictions were pretty severe.
It is a cute little hotel right on the water in the center of town. Our room was very small with a double bed, and a single bed that took up all the remaining floor space in the room. It had a tiny bathroom with a wood shower "mat" that looked and felt slimy. When I questioned the woman at the desk, she said it was just the soap they use to clean. The bedding was not very comfortable, and the room was not quite as clean as i would prefer. For the pricing, which is at the higher end for the area, I just expected more. Somebody reviewed it is a country club fancy, but that is not what we experienced. When we expressed our concerns the evening we checked in, they did offer to move us to a larger room the next day. Mostly because of the continuing water situation though, we decided to switch to a different hotel that had much larger storage tanks to accommodate their rooms.
Although it turned out not to be the right choice for us, the staff was very accommodating and did not charge us for the balance of our nights.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the larger rooms on the water, there is a big difference in the rooms.

Dear Hykes15,

Thanks for sharing your experience. We're pleased you found our staff to be very accommodating.

Thank you for suggesting larger storage tanks for the future to better serve our guests. The drought that Panama is experiencing this year has affected the whole country, and for that reason water is being rationed, as you mentioned.

Thanks also for mentioning that the staff offered to upgrade your room, in hopes of improving your experience.
