“Perfect condo for a couple who like the beach, warm weather, and east access to town.”
Reviewed 2 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed in Condo #2 for the month of March. Everything was as described in the posting and Kim was very helpful in answering my questions prior to and after arrival. The booklet in the apartment is also very helpful, and we were happy with many of the restaurant and activity recommendations. The condo is built to North American standards and is very clean. We chose to have two meals a day at the condo and often ate lunch out. The kitchen has everything needed, even a decent set of knives!

As described, the condo is convenient for transportation. There's also a mini-mart in the gas station which is only 200 feet away - very helpful for picking up beverages and simple food items. Recently the gas station has added a car wash/oil change in the back which is open from approximately 8 am to 11 pm. Unfortunately a number of the drivers blare their music for the 15+ minutes while the cars are being serviced, disrupting a normally reasonably quiet neighborhood. I know that Kim is going to try to address the noise with the owners.

Like every place in Bocas the water in the condo is not for drinking. After we bought a few 5 ltr bottles of water we would take the empties to the Bocas Brewery just down the road and refill them for 50¢ a gallon. We offset the cost of a micro-brew with our savings on the cost of water and further justified it as getting some exercise. :-).

The bed is comfortable and the air conditioning and fan in the bedroom works great which made it nice for sleeping. There are fans in the living/kitchen space to help you try to stay cool when watching TV, etc. We're from a cool climate and on several occasions wished for air conditioning in there as well. Although Bocas gets down to the mid-to-low 70's at night the space doesn't cool down very much as the windows need to be shut at night. Kim has told me that they are in the process of obtaining then will install an additional air conditioner, so these rooms will be more comfortable in the future.

The Internet was reliable and a speed that allowed us to watch videos and take online classes.

This is a perfect condo for a couple or two friends who like the beach, warmer weather, and easy access to town. It is a good value especially considering the quality of the amenities.

“I couldn't be happier!!”
Reviewed 1 March 2016 for a stay in February 2016

I loved everything about this condo!
First the owners. Kim and Bryan went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. They are amazing! Awesome hosts. They gave us great advice on places to go and even introduced us to some of the other expats. She made sure we had coffee, spices and lots of fresh linens among many other things.
The location is kind of in the middle so we were close enough to Bocas Town and Paki Point that we could walk. It's next to the gas station and a little market. We were in that market every day picking up some snack or drink. Also it's easy to get a cab at the gas station.
We will stay there again and I would definitely recommend this condo.

“Great Value in Bocas"”

Condo is located just outside Bocas town itself. When I got my bearings straight, I realized that Condo is strategically located where you can head to town in 3 minutes if you go one direction or bluff beach in 10 if you go the other. Unit was clean, modern appliances, owner has it well stocked with dishes, pots etc... Had internet , no issues with electricity or water . Ac only in bedroom.

Condo is adjacent to a small gasoline station/grocery store which later turned out to be a convenience since I ended up going there 5 times a day to get one thing or another. There is also a bus stop on the main street in front of building which will come in useful when you go to Bocas del drago ( $5.00 round trip on bus). Taxis are also coming to the gas station, so you never wait to catch a ride to town (only 60 cents from this location).

The beach in front of condo is mostly a locals beach and I did not see anyone swimming there when I was in Bocas ( high density of seal algae). You will see people walking along in the evening with their dogs and some folks playing soccer on the western side.

The Condo owner, Kim ,was a pleasure to work with and always answered any questions I had. She gave me a great rate during the low season and I could not thank her enough. If you want a place that will allow you to be independent and have the ability to have a kitchen to cook things and your own fridge etc... This was a great find for me and I would definitely stay again if I went back to Bocas.

Things I learned on my trip:

1) Take the one day trip to to Zapatilla, Dolphin Bay and scuba diving. Many operators ,$ 35.00 dollars per person plus 15 tax for national park for non residents. Leave at 10am and return at 4pm. They drop you on an island for lunch as well.

2) If you are here for a week rent a bike . You can get to town and bluff beach on the bike. A bunch of people are riding around.

3) There are a number of restaurants frequented by locals where you can get a good meal for 5 bucks. Seek these out instead of tourist type places.

4) You do not need to waste more than 5 dollars a day on a bike rental. Seek these places out.

5) Bocas Town is more of a backpacker's wonderland than older travelers. Lot's of Hostels and younger people traveling from country to country etc... This mean's the nightlife in the town will be more of a party atmosphere.

6) Take a walk or bike ride around bocas town and the surrounding area on your first day so you can get a really good feel for the place and decide what you want to do.

7) Take advantage of sunny days if you in June or July cause it might rain often.

8) Go to Bocas del drago and spend some time over there and DO NOT TOUCH THE STARFISH. Make sure and get several taxi drivers and different boat operators to tell you how much is it per person round trip to "Isla de los pajaros (Bird Island)" I was told several different prices when I went and did not appreciate it.

9) There is one Caribbean market near the large ferry on the eastern edge of Bocas Town. This one is more anglo type and had a great selection of stuff that I liked... I wish found it the first day!

10) If you get the chance, come to Bocas via bus from David (great views and only 8 dollars). Ride takes 4 hours or so , but very picturesque. Lot's of turns so this is not for the weak of stomach.

Away from the noise and hustle & bustle of town, yet only a 60 cent taxi ride away. Located very close to a store where you can buy basic supplies including beer, wine and alcohol. Only a short walk to a couple of very good restaurants, one international and the other local food. Owners Kim & Brian are always available to help with any questions and are on site for easy access.
