We only stayed here for one night so no major complaints but, if we were staying longer, we would have requested a room with a better view. Looking out onto a garden area that was unfinished not great, but for only one night wasn't a problem. The service in reception was great, very helpful young ladies. Food choice in the restaurant was amazing but service was slow and no direction upon us walking in as to where we should start and what we should do. No drinks menu was given so trying to explain a gin and tonic, resulted in a 40 minute wait. The rooms were lovely and spacious and air con worked. We would stay here again.

Stayed here for two nights as part of our stay in Sri Lanka. The hotel is set high up on a hill out of the centre of town with magnificent views. One evening we had the sunset to one side while a full moon rose on the other.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable, air con is a little hit and miss though, we had two units in the room each with own controller however only one seems to work. The unit in the lounge area was noisy and not that cold.
Whilst the food in restaurant is good, you only have the choice of buffet dining. To have a la cart dining you need to get room service, we tried this one evening. Mmmm, person who answered the phone said 'no food' and hung up, a few minutes later a waiter arrived at the door to take our order. He seemed confused by what was happening and left with our order, he did bring back the food, but had to bring drinks separately. As food and drinks come from different areas there were 3 dockets to sign.
Staff we encountered ranged from super friendly to almost seeming as if we were in there way. Topaz promises a lot but just doesn't seem to hit the mark consistently.

We only stayed one night unfortunately, clean rooms, comfy bed, lovely views from restaurant,good mix of western and sri lankan food, cold beer , recommended, friends had a noisy room near disco however
