This was our second stay at this beautiful establishment. From the moment we arrived to ring the front door bell until the moment we left we were treated like royalty. The staff are always smiling & nothing is too much trouble.
Breakfast is a feast of tropical fruits, freshly squeezed juices, eggs, bacon, omelette, pancakes & toast. Coffee and tea also. All served in a gorgeous setting in the grounds facing the ocean. There’s a great menu and chef does an amazing Sri Lankan prawn curry.
Rooms are cleaned daily to perfection and a nightly turn down is a pleasant surprise with flowers on the pillows and bed.
This is s hidden paradise which we would highly recommend.

Downtown Hikkaduwa and the speed of traffic along Galle Road won’t suit everyone; this location is the right distance from the madness!

Situated on the widest section of beautiful Hikkaduwa beach, this small hotel offers a great location and beach views from your balcony and the gardens.

There is considerable construction work in progress along the strip of beach fronted property and Suite Lanka is next door to a sizeable project.
A peaceful breakfast wasn’t possible, but once on a sun lounger, the powerful waves crashing onto the beach is all you can hear.

There are a selection of room types, we found our room too small for the size of the impressive four poster bed and furniture. Great balcony and perfect tropical views.

The staff are very friendly, attentive and the level of service is very good.

Breakfast and snacks were very fresh, quick and excellent quality. We didn’t have dinner, but all we spoke to, reported an excellent experience.

Room cleaning is good, including a turn down service as an additional, special touch.
Bathroom towels, complimentary toiletries and water pressure all need improving.

Good, but for the cost, we expected excellence.

Dear JurassicJonz,

I thank you for having stayed with us and for taking your time to write this feedback.
It´s very constructive and differentiated.

I am sorry about the disturbance caused by the construction next door. Fortunately it´s all over now,

About the other mentioned points:
Bathroom towels are regularly replaced and laundered by the most sophisticated laundry in the area (Galle), However we change them according to our guests request.
Toiletries are indeed intentionally kept to the minimum, such as soap and shampoo from a dispenser, We try to reduce unneccessary plastic waste to a minimum. And as the majority of our guests bring their own toiletries, there is no real reason to spoil our environment with lots of small plastic bottles, filled with shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and lostion.
The water pressure is a bit weak in the morning until we switch on our water pressure pump, as it causes extra noise, which we try to avoid during the early hours.. Within the next couple of months we will re-locate the pressure pump to the back of our land, so we can easily operate it 24 hours without causing any dirsturbance to our guests.

Again I thank you for your visit and hope, that we can welcome you as our guests at a later occasion again.

With kind regards,

Charming, colonial style building with a stunning view! Great location right on the lovely, calm beach. Very clean and comfortable apartments with modern interior design. Friendly and helpful staff, very personalized service. Fresh fruit and pancake delicious breakfast served in the garden together with sound of ocean breaking waves. Surfing schools and nice bars just in a short walk along the beach. Felt like we were in our own private place, just wonderful experience!
Hope to come back and would definitely recommend it ! Thank you for great holidays !

We spent 7 marvellous days in Suite Lanka in February 2018. Where to start?
ARRIVAL
We were greeted at the airport by the personal driver in the middle of the night. The way from the airport is a long journey - we asked the driver to stop for a restroom and small shopping in a safe place (we wanted to take some money from ATM) and he drove us to such place - we didn't have to ask twice! The plus on driver's account was that he has driven very carefully - which is not always (actually rare) a case in Sri Lanka.
The biggest surprise however on our 3 am arrival was ... the personal welcome by the owner (!). It was really in the middle of the night! As the reception staff was busy with our luggage, he showed as a way to our
ROOM
we were accomodated in the junior suite - lots of space for our 4 Pax family. Everything was clean and well prepared. Yes that's true they provide all the towels (beach towels in green colors), but keep in mind that there is only soap and shower gel available. If you need any other amenities - bring your own!
BREAKFAST
on the first morning we took Sri Lankan breakfast for adults and famous pancakes with fruits for kids. They were so yummy, that our kids didn't touch anything else for the breakfast during our entire stay! Be careful! Sri Lankan breakfast can be very spicy and maybe not the best choice for people not used to shrimps in the morning diet:).
FOOD OVERAL
Great local Chef! Buying only the freshest local market products. You won't have a beef if he decides not to buy one for a poor quality. Always rely on him and ask what's fresh tonight. Sea food always great, aks for less spicy curry (his special) - I didn't the first night - so I had to drink lots of Savignon Blanc from New Zealand to keep my body temperature down;).
BEACH
Empty! You don't have to fight for your umbrella! It's always there! Ocean however gets rough later in the afternoon. If you still want to swim - you can walk 1000 meters to the right, where you got a good surfing, but also swimming spot. Btw surfing lessons are very reasonable priced in Sri Lanka, for 1 hour private in Bondi in Sydney you got 8-10 lessons here:). Beach is public, but due to less trafic very clean. 150 m on the left you have fisherman boats and 2 beachball sandy courts. Every afternoon there are locals playing volleyball - happy to accept you as an ... international player;).
SERVICE
One of the best advantages of the place, always smiling and happy to help. But remember - you are in Sri Lanka and on holidays. People need time to bring your drink or to serve good meal. It's definitely not a fast food place here.
CONSTRUCTION next door
By the time I am writing this should be already done (remember workers need time...).
As we are very active and always on the move, we didn't notice a lot of the construction in progress in the next door property. It could be an issue for some guests staying in the room (but who comes to Sri Lanka and stays in the room?). The ocean waves were so lound that using the beach umbrellas we could hardly hear any noise there.
OWNER
We had a couple of nice chats with Mr Roland and we also met him occasionally at one of the sunset bars close to the surfing spot. His knowledge about the travel destinations (he runs a luxury travel agency), his local recommendations and excursion advises were more than helpful and made our stay very comfortable.
