This is a lovely hotel. Michelle the owner oversees the whole experience with passion and care. We had a 2 room suite, with a small living area, inside and outside showers in the bathroom, and a terrace where you can watch birds and monkeys and listen to the call to prayer in the morning and evening. The air con is great and there is a unit in each room. There is a very nice pool.
The hotel is right by the lake, so the views from the pool and terrace where dinner is served are beautiful. You can walk or borrow a bike (though the bikes need a good service so do give them a good try before venturing out) along the lakeside and then the canals through rice fields and villages - its just beautiful, and we met some lovely local folk as we went. The food is very very good here, breakfast was huge, everything you could think of. We had a great curry one night and lake fish another, both excellent. There is so much to do locally, that its lovely to come back to the peace at the hotel and then a relaxing dinner.
The hotel manager organised a driver (Saman)to pick us up from Passekudah, and we employed him the next day for a day of sightseeing starting early in the morning climbing Pidarangala Rock. Having a good guide and driver really helps when you have limited time so we were very grateful to be put in such good hands.
Overall we would definitely recommend staying here, it is an intimate and relaxing haven.
