We spent two nights in Merzouga Desert, one in our camp hotel and one in the desert. It was one of the most amazing things we have ever done as a family. While we were riding the camels through the desert, we were all giddy with delight at the sights and fact that we were doing this together. It was during the hottest months of the year, so it was not very busy, but since we did not have an option for our timing, we decided to just take the chance and do it. So very, very glad that we did. We will remember this for the rest of our lives.

Beautiful pristine massive sand dunes in pure silence. What could be better? This was our favourite experience in Morocco. Climb the dunes for insanely awesome photo opportunities! Without hesitation I would recommend this activity. Camels are sweet.

Visited there in last December in a very cold and windy day, but the sky was extremely amazing. Bright stars all around you, so close, so clear, wandering it should be only seen in the movies. Spend one night there, absolutely worth but remember to wrap warm.

As part of our family's trip to Morocco, we scheduled a visit to the town of Merzouga and used it as our starting point for a camel excursion and desert camping experience. Although I'm typically not an early riser, it was well worth the chill and sandy attire to get up before the sun and watch as it climbed up over the dunes. Truly a 'Lawrence of Arabia' moment. Additionally, the stars at night were so bright and beautiful. If the moon hadn't been out, we probably could have seen more stars than sky.

Really big sand dunes and beautiful colours. If you have never been to the desert this is one to see, especially if you are able to do it by camel back.
