Visiting the desert of Merzouga and sleep overnight is one the best experiences I have ever had.
The trip from Marrakech is long, 9 hours driving aprox.
There is nothing else than sand dunes, so staying at the camp in the middle of the desert make the journey worths.
In order to get the camp, you will ride a camel for 40 minutes, which is such an experience.
You can do sand board in the dunes as well.
After 10 PM, the camp shut off the lights, and the darkness let you see the calestial vault over your head, the sky was so clear, that you look thousand of stars... simply unbelieavable!! Great experience.
The temperature gets cold at night, at least when I was there in november around 35 °F or 3 °C
In the morning you may want to wake up early to see the sunrise.
This is definitely a must see attraction in Morocco.
