So good I am going to the trouble of writing my first review of anything, anywhere, ever. Begona and Mohammed were outstanding hosts.

We are a couple in our mid-20s who stayed here for 2nights. The riad itself is a lovely blue color as is the whole Chaouen medina. Provides a very serene feeling. The terrace on which we had breakfast was absolutely fantastic- beautiful views of the Rif mountains and cute rooftops. As Chaouen is not bustling at night, it was so nice to sit here in the evenings as well. Begonia, the manager of the riad who speaks English pretty well, was helpful and addressed any questions that we had regarding sightseeing and transport to Fes. Would recommend based on nice location and accomodating staff.

Just a tip: inquired riad about transport from Tangier to Chaouen and were told their private pick-up is a fixed price of 55euro. We opted to take our chances and were easily able to negotiate in English and some broken Spanish on a private grand taxi to the medina door for 40euro. You could probably get it even a bit lower if you are willing to bargain for longer (as discussed on lonelyplanet's thorntree forums).

I spent two days there at the end of this year. Great place, very well located. Lovely terasse. Nice inside yard. I have no words to describe how nice the employees are (Begonia, Mohamed, Moha, Fatima, Essiya). They are so kind and helpful. Begonia is so charming and fun to talk to.
Breakfast was yummy! I recommand you that charming riad.

Although we were only here 1 night, it was very comfortable and in a central location. The breakfast on the rooftop terrace was fantastic....moroccan pancakes, breads, goat cheese, honey and jams. Really a worthwhile stop...don't miss Casa Perleta and Chefchaouen!

Casa Perleta is an overall nice place, done with good taste and in rustic style.

Room was ok, bed comfortable. The thing we didn't understand though was why we were given the very noisy room number 4 since the booking was made long-time in advance? The local children were playing just underneath the window and this until late in the evening..

Also the staff gave the overall impression not to be present enough, a lot of times there was nobody at the reception, when problems with internet we were told that this happens sometimes in Chefchaouen etc.. I understand that Chefchaouen is a cool place where one is relaxed but this shouldn't be the rule when it comes to being a professional in a guest house.

Breakfast is good, I would suggest adding some fresh fruit to it and more bread.

If you come by car, know that you don't have to leave it at the paid parking recommended by the hotel, but you could leave it in the street close by for free without a problem, the place is not as busy as Fes could be for instance.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms at the first floor
