“Do not go there! Campfeeling, not a resort!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2011

We've (couple 27 year) have been there 2 night's in july 2011.
There are only package deals to go there en all the other resorts were fully booked, so we took this resort as a last change to see Lang Tenah.

Overall: Terrible, more like last year primaryschool's camp then a resort.
Timescheduled food (breakfast from 7-8h, lunch 12-13h, dinner 19-20h) has no variety and is bad. Made of lowbudget products for big groups.

Room: Small, No airco and not clean at all.
Snorklingtrip: Not as promised 3 times, but only 2 times, but after the first trip (about 70 people on 2 boats together where they throw lost off bread in the water so fish will come...) we didn't feel like goiing on the second one.
By the way at the " resort" we had to pay an additional 60 Ring to hire a snorklingset for 2 days!?!

This all is bad, but it gets worse. The women who worked there when we where there were nasty, not at all friendly people.

So in total my advice is: DO NOT go there if you want to visit Lang Tenah.
We had a perfect experience in the Perhentians (New Cozy chalet/ Coconut with seaview!)

In summary, this was the worst, terrible & tiring trip i ever experience before.
1, The bus the used to transfer us from Airport to jetty is no aircond. been toasted in bus for 30minute
2, When we reach the jetty, the tour leader did not well plan the schedule and cause us wait for nothing for 2 hours
3, According to speed boat driver, the resort never service the speedboat. Air pollution to the sea
4, Finally reach the resort, but greet by unfriendly staffs, no briefing of activities was provided, they expect you to read the white board yourself
5, Lunch time!! the food was terrible, because we are slightly late, all the food is gone and never replenished. After a big fight with staff only get our self a simple vegetable & fried eggs
6, Room: the bed was dirty and uncomfortable, toilet can't flush water. After another round of complaint the resort management only send a staff to repair. The only facilities available in room is 2 tower & soap. Don;t dream of TV, kettle, freeze, hair dryer ...
7, Activities: Snorkeling trip is very short - only 2hrs, according to speedboat driver, their boss want them back to resort before 4pm for tea time. so they only bring us snoke near by the island
8, BBQ dinner: they only serve chicken, lamb, sausage. The fish only limit one for each person. When you take more than 1 they will questioning you and show a black face ... hey ! do they understand what is meaning of buffet??? of course, the quality is bad and tasteless, quatity is not enough and never replenished. They even control each person 1 plate (for reason they have no enough plate) to limit the food taken.
9, The power trip will happen few time a day, especially 7am, 12pm, & 4pm. The reasopn provided by them was they treat this as morning call for breakfast, lunch & tea time ... hey ... what if we plan to sleep late (this is holiday), do they think they will disturb us???
10, the only pro side is environment was nice, chrystal clear water.
Overall, this is the worst trip i've experienced before. after the trip i feel more exhaus & tiring. Will not recommence this hotel to other. If you really like Lang Tengah island, try D'coconut or Sari pacifica.

Room Tip: Just get away from Redanag Lang Resort

Overall, it is a resort with very nice beach. The food that prepared by the resort is satisfactory and I like the free flow coffee, tea and bread (with toaster, kaya, butter and jam) from 7am to 7pm. The breakfast is good too: with various of choice such as roti canai, spaghetti, chu cheong fun, fried kuey teow for one morning.

At night, the resort has pool table (RM10 per hour), board game such as congkak (free), Karaoke (with old songs), burger stall and bar. We can watch tv (astro) in the living hall. Not too bad but nothing much to do at night.

However, the room that I stayed was disappointing The air conditional and water heater are very old. The water tap of the sink is almost stuck, no flow water. The toilet is too small. And the rooms have no chair and wardrobe to put our luggage.

we arrived the day after the tsunami hit Japan, waters were choppy and visibility under 3 metres. It rained too but the staff went out of their way to get us to snorkeling spots in secluded lagoons .

It is regimented with meals times strictly regulated where everyone rushed for food. I blame this on the youth culture and the immaturity of the visitors. Food were not great but fresh. They have BBQ alternate nights. We hiked, played beach volleyball, snorkel with the staff too. Rooms were clean with aircond, wide beds and everything is close to each other. Nights were filled with activities too, carrom, fritters, mahjong etc. A bit loud at times but its a resort...

For RM 299 (USD 100) for a 3 day 2 nights break that includes 2 snorkeling trips, 1 hiking, 4 square meals, free flow drinks and boat transfer from Merang jetty on the mainland... its an excellent deal.

We didn't regreat our choice but there are some shortcomings, I hope you can have awareness when you want book the resort.

Transportation: The pickup service is good, our flight from Kuala Lumpur delayed but the driver (an old uncle) did wait us and didn't show us unhappy look. But what we unhappy is when we reach the jetty, we wait almost 1 hour then the boat just came. When it reached jetty, the boat filled the petrol, captain and his helper maybe go to have lunch... We wait another 1 more hour.

There are only 2 visitors (me & my friend) aboard the boat, so total 4 persons on the boat. The journey quite long as it needs 2 hours to reach Lang Tengah island. The smoke by the boat and helper (smoking) made my friend uncomfortable in cabin, so we decided to sit at the tail of the boat and felt better a bit...

Room: The room is what we expect, it's clean (Malaysian standard) and comfortable.

Food: We had BBQ dinner at first dinner, there are not many choices and the food is ok. Except breakfast, lunch and dinner is all allocated base on how many people in your group. The dishes are simple and made me full ( I eat a lot and not picky to food) and yes, you can fill the rice as much as you can.

Itinerary: Therer's a small blackboard behind the reception and it shows what the activity they have today, it's clear and easy to understand.

Snorkeling: We didn't join the snorkeling trip as I can swim so I bring my friend snorkeling nearby the beach. You can see NEMO fish 100m away to the beach, 10 or 11 clock direction to the jetty~ :) I also see a boxfish 50m away to the beach!

Diving: There's a diveshop in the resort. Diving equipment is workable, DM is good and funny guy, he did show us something to see in the water.

Surroundings: I been Perhentian, Tioman before but I think the water around the Lang Tengah is the clearest. The sand is white, clean and soft.

Staff: Nice and helpful, didn't show us unhappy look when we need help.

By the way, I still recommend you stay in this resort when you want come Lang Tengah island!
